Excellent value for money. Great quality, generous quantity, decent scrap sizes, mixed colours
Really pleased with the first bag I received. The amount seems very generous; enough to keep me occupied with small projects for some time. Enough to make mistakes with lots left over. No huge pieces but several larger "sections" c.10-12 x 6-8 inches and lots of decent smaller offcuts, big enough to make purses, wallets, spectacle cases, etc. It included a few small triangular corners and narrow strips, but these were in the minority and are still potentially useful for plaiting etc. Decent quality leather with a soft suedey reverse. Most of the scraps I received are all of similar thickness/weight, supple with good drape, not too thin. I received a mix with 4 good colours. The majority in two shades of brown - a milk chocolate and a slightly darker shade. Plus a smaller but decent quantity of the attractive dark red visible in the seller photo (which has a few interesting "fault" dye lines in a bright cherry red that might be good for decorative embellishments, e.g. flowers). And a small amount of a very nice black. The coloured sides are slightly shiny, except some of the black, which has a duller sheen. The leather does need airing to get rid of the smell of the finish, but it doesn't take long. I laid my offcuts over the back of a chair to allow any creases to relax and the smell has already mostly gone after a day, Love the fact these offcuts are being sold for repurposing, not going to landfill. Very tempting to buy a second bag to see if I can score more black... Overall verdict: Total Bargain!

Phenomenal value for money.
It may be sold as scrap offcuts but there are lots of very useable pieces for leather workers and crafter's. There aren't single pieces large enough (12"x12") to cut a handbag from but there's certainly plenty that you could make a wallet, purse or wrist band from. The colour palette l received were mainly brown, ox blood and black but there was also, purple, pink, white and green in the mix. I'm going to use them in conjunction with veg tan leather to make watch straps and looking at the large amount received l should be able to make scores of straps from it. Some people have complained that the pieces they received were unusable but l think this could be a case of expectations exceeding reality, they are sold as scrap pieces and are not uniform in size but they are still very, very, useable for most small crafting ideas. Another issue was the smell, this is treated leather that will repel water, stains, scuffing etc. It is furniture grade and has to live up to the daily rigors imposed upon it so it's treated with chemicals to impart these properties and yes there is a smell to it but after airing this smell disappears. If you have a leather suite in your home l'm sure you'll not be aware of any foul smell from it as it will have dissipated before it was delivered, this will happen to this leather after airing. It may be a case of pot luck when it comes to what you get but l for one am totally happy with the quality, quantity and usability of the parcel l received and think it's phenomenal value for money.

Excellent quality leather, just a few issues with colour/smell.
A little bit disappointed with this purchase. Stuffed into a plastic bag so leather is creased...wouldn't harm the packet to just fold it rather than crumple and stuff...I bought 2 lots because I thought I may get more of a selection. Whilst I realise not all sofas are bright and it's pot luck as to what you get...a 2kg bag of practically all the same.brown was a bit disappointing...a small slither of black and few small pieces of a burgundy-brown (altho to be fair the latter has a nice reverse red colour going on and I like suede.. ) The worse thing was the smell...whatever was used to protect the leather was overpowering...it permeated every single piece of furniture in my home. It's still (after a week) bring aired outside. Aside from that...the leather is perfect for what I need, nice large pieces (mostly) and very good quality. Would recommend to others, but for myself I won't be buying again.

Complete gamble.
I've ordered loads of leather from these guys and it really is a complete gamble.Sometimes you get over 2kg and sometimes you get way under 2kg.You never get good colours it's almost always black. You'll never get big enough pieces for crafting so you'll have to make do.To get rid of the smell hang them outside overnight or in a ventilated room for a few days, sometimes the smell is worse than others but when it goes away all it smells like is leather so you really do have go air them out.You don't need any fancy glue just pva two pieces together and it's much easier to work with. This is great though because it's very cheap and you'll learn everything you need to without spending loads. If you want to get into making things with leather I'd say buy a lot of cheap stuff like this to get you going. Also don't spend £40 on a leather stamping pad, just get a few layers together, glue then stitch and you have a perfect stamping pad for £1 that YOU made that works just as well.Buy cheap leather tools.Buy cheap leather tools! This is important because the tools will last years and years and will do the EXACT same as the expensive ones, save your money for the different types of leather you can find.Plus if you decide leatherwork isn't for you then you haven't broken the bank. This stuff is great for learning all your stitching and getting a feel for how leather works in your hand so to speak.A lot of YouTube videos/tutorials work with top grain leather and go on and on about how specific you need to be with different things, but you don't, you really don't, they overcomplicate things that are incredibly simple and sacre off any newcomers. It's much easier than you think and a lot more fun.As soon as you get your hands on some leather you'll have trouble deciding what to make first because you'll get a flood of ideas.I'd advise making your own stamp pad first, keeps your tools sharp and sets you up for other projects.Don't let leatherwork scare you it's so simple and fun.
