A perfect brick hammer. Cheap and reliable. Won't use any other hammer

Used for fossil hunting
Great quality, quick delivery, good price. Used this hammer for breaking up rocks while fossil hunting. Small enough for my kids to use but big enough for me to use.

Well priced, strong, functional but fairly uncomfortable brick hammer
Surprisingly well made and strong considering the low price. It doesn't chip or damage easily and, most importantly, the head stays put during substantial use. Perfect for new fossil hunters as it's cheap and reassuringly sturdy (though too heavy for young children who will likely prefer a hickory handled geology hammer). Works fine as a standard brick hammer too. However, it's not very well weighted (balanced) and the handle is not ergonomic, so expect some discomfort and fatigue during extended use.

Good brick hammer
I'm a bricklayer by trade & decided to buy a brick hammer after many years. I usually prefer a scutch hammer, but due to currently building a timber frame property this is more useful for trimming bricks & putting in wall ties. I read some of the less positive reviews before purchasing & I don't think that some folks fully understood their use before buying this product. They're not meant for belting the daylights out of an object. They're meant for trimming bricks where sometimes either a trowel or bolster might not be quite what's needed. I personally like the fact that it's lightweight, a heavy brick hammer's unnecessary & awkward. Handle's fine & plenty "grippy" enough & yes it will pick up surface rust. As it's not made from stainless steel & doesn't claim to be. As suggested in some reviews. Also, after purchase if you go to the Silverline site you can register it to be covered by a lifetime guarantee for use under normal conditions. Hope this review helps a bit.

A great hammer at a great price.
Bought 2 for the kids to take to Lyme Regis fossil hunting. A perfect weight for kids or adults to carry and use. Appear to be sturdy and well made. Happy with purchase!

Cheap and lightweight.
I'd bought this to use whilst fosil collecting however due to its thin walled construction it has no real weight to it so wasn't great. Spend a little more and get better quality.

Great for fossil hunting
As stated this has been a godsend for when I'm out hunting for fossils. Easy to use and feels very well built

Good enough.
This seems fine. Satisfying heft. Head hasn't fallen off yet (as another reviewer claimed), but then it has seen only very light use so far. Handle IS blue, not black, as one of the pictures suggested. Build seems very close to the Estwing we bought and returned awhile back, although I admit the rivetted-on head worries me. The Estwing cost nearly £40 and to say we were unimpressed is to understate the case. NOT £40 worth or anywhere near. Crudely made and indifferently finished - for the money, and given the reputation, we expected much more. This offering cost next to nothing.
