Phenomenal book to test your theory
Positives:This book is practise and testing your music theory. The exercise vary from easy to difficult and allow you to test your knowledge. By completing it, you should be able to sit the level music tests. The exercises are really engaging too. Note, it does have some hints and knowledge bits but it is not a learning book (i.e. read it to learn level 1), it's an exercise book like a mock exam. I found the book engaging too, as well as relevant.Cons; Some exercises were wrong (minor details and issues but wrong nonetheless)Some exercises repetitive but I guess that's how one would learn best

Invaluable Tool for Teaching Music Theory
I use this workbook to teach music theory and reinforce the ideas covered in the practical lessons. It helps students think. For instance, in answer to the question on page 5 they can say that 3over 4 means 3 beats in a bar. Invariably, when you ask them why not just write a big "3" to convey the same idea they are at a loss and you can use this as a launching pad to explain the full concept. The improvisation/composition exercises at the end of the book are also helpful for both students and teachers. They are needed for all round musicianship. This was delivered promptly via Amazon Prime.

Excellent Workbook
This product is yet to arrive from the UK to the Caribbean, but given the current condition of world trade that is understandable. I can however state from past experience that this is an excellent workbook, giving students adequate review of elementary musical concepts, enabling them to prepare for music theory exams and apply music theory to their own performance.

A very useful teaching tool
These books are good teaching tools, rather than DIY. Any musician who can read music will already know some of the content of this book, so it is a pleasant surprise for pupils that they already know some theory without realising it. It coincidentally highlights the importance of READING THE QUESTION as many of the exercises have to be completed in different ways, and pupils often rush ahead without reading the specific instruction. This will stand them in good stead when doing school exams.A tip (probably frowned on by ABRSM!) - rather than have pupils sitting grade 1 theory, grade 2 theory etc, you can buy past papers, and if you want to be lazy past answers are available too! You would still have to use your brain/experience a little, but this saves expensive exam fees.
