I've only used this a couple of times so far, but it does what I expect it to do. what more can I say?

My last one got broken so i needed a new one.

So much easoer than getting a drill out to make a couple of pilot holes. The right tool for the job is the best thing ever.

Previous purchases of the brand's products were not universally successful in that most proved incapable of more than one or two uses before failing through breakage, distortion or a similar defect due to use of low-grade steel. Some products were returned and replaced by another brand although others were simply discarded when an alternative could not be found. Few remain in use after several years of ownership but quality standards may have since improved.The "Draper 29517 3 mm Twist Gimlet" is apparently the best (based on quantity of reviews and their ratings) of a limited number of comparable alternatives. However, there is doubt about the quality and hardness of the steel used for the shaft as it allows for far more bending than it should when under thumb pressure alone. Useful whenever getting a screw to grip first time is a necessity when a hole does not exist. Currently it is functional, inexpensive and can be replaced with another when or should it later fail. Hopefully, one of superior quality may then be a possibility.Usual low-grade steel as used by Draper's suppliers.

everything was fine

I was delighted to find this little gem, since in a cross-country move I had lost the one I inherited from my father. Gimlet starters are so easy to use and convenient, I would not want to be without one. This one seems sturdy. I would like it better if the handle were thicker and easier to grip, but it is more than adequate as is.

Pour mon fils qui a des problèmes de préhension, cet outil est formidable. Costaud, ergonomique et pointe efficace.

Bien utile pour le montage des meubles ou les avant-trous sont parfois trop petits. La vrille a l'air solide . Bon rapport qualité/prix.
