Migraine relief
This device is quite good. The first time I used it, I felt like I had bees buzzing on my forehead and the pain was different. Yes, there is some pain, but it lessened the migraine duration. The session is 15 minutes. And the migraine is often gone by the end of the session. You can also use it proactively and do some prevention treatments. Those sessions last 30 minutes and it’s a different sensation. Tiny electric shocks to help control your migraines. If you have tried everything out there, give this a shot.

Good adjunct for pain relief
I bought this for migraine relief primarily; I have had migraines since age 11-12 and every once in awhile I have one severe enough that it doesn’t respond to my over the counter or prescribed abortive medication. For those instances I use the cefaly device and have found it to be beneficial in taking the edge off of these headaches. While it takes an hour for the abortive program to complete and the stimulation can be intense at times, it is worth it as I always feel at least somewhat better if not relief after use. Typically I find the sharp stabbing pain and the nausea symptoms are much better after use, whereas the tiredness and dull pain still takes a bit to resolve. Admittedly, I haven’t been consistent enough with it to use for prevention (a shorter but more frequent treatment) but I have found it effective for its abortive use. One downside is the cost of the electrodes which are reusable but still require frequent replacement; cheaper replacement kits would be a nice initiative. However I am pleased with this device and will continue to use it.

Doesn't relieve migraines
This device doesn't relieve migraines. It only provides a massage and very temporary numbing of the forehead to reduce pain. I can receive the same and better benefit from a frozen icepack. Once the Cefaly is off it no longer provides any benefit. When my family member bought a device from Cefaly they received 2 electrode pads that came with the device. But with my Amazon purchase I only received one. Then the device didn't work as well after the first time even though I washed my face, then went over it with an alcohol pad, let it dry, then applied the electrode pad, then the device. BTW, if you purchase from Cefaly, they have a 60 day return policy, vs on Amazon cannot return.

Glad I took a gamble
One of the things I hate about being a chronic migraine sufferer is the amount of things that don't help with a lick of relief. So many people tell you to try this or that. It's a crapshoot to figure out what works for you. I lost an unbelievable amount of money amongst other very important things I won't go into. When I first saw this device a few years ago, I asked neurology on their thoughts. They said to me it wasn't worth trying the cefaly out. I've been curious for years still and I know my body more than anybody else. I saw this device go on sale which helped me out greatly on making the decision to give it a try. It's still expensive on sale but I keep thinking about all the ridiculous things I've tried in the past and how much money that costs. I bought the cefaly with no expectations, only hope. I really like that the cefaly dual only attaches itself to the electrode that sticks on to just that front part of your forehead. Many of us hate pitting our hair in a headband or ponytail when having a migraine. I also like that the cefaly dual is easy to use. I'm very grateful that there is the dual option to treat acutely in the middle of a headache and to use as a preventative. I was able to go through full intensity on the first try. Don't be scared to try this as you have the ability to control the intensity. I have been using this for only a short time but have seen some results. When you use the cefaly, it feels strange. My scalp and forehead feel numb when at full intensity. When I have a headache during the use, the headache feels like it's gone when I'm at full intensity. Unfortunately, I don't get rid of bad headaches that same day after I'm done using the cefaly for 1 hour. They don't get worse either. I tried this on a nasty one that started. It felt like it was going to get worse and last for several days. When I treated the headache with the cefaly, I went to bed and woke up migraine free the next day and it was raining! Rain is a big trigger for me. You may not see instant results, but this device can still be helpful. Some things I suggest is to not walk around or move a lot while the device is in use. You may just want to sit or lay down. You'll want to keep your muscles in a neutral position on your head and face. It's great to just relax. The tingly sensation is great. The downside of this treatment is that my head will itch. It's the worst when a cat comes over and their hair tickles the "numb" area of my forehead. You can't successfully scratch the area. After using the device, you'll feel tingly and possibly itchy. That goes away soon enough. I wish the electrodes were less expensive. I'm glad you can reuse them. I'm getting close to the 20 day use limit. I have skin that makes adhesives stickier for some reason, so I may be lucky here and get the full 20 uses. I think if you're on here considering giving the cefaly a try, it's worth a shot. I can't give it the full stars because it doesn't get rid of ongoing severe headaches after I use it for the one hour suggestion.
