Vaisis Spiral Harness Wrap 0.591" (15mm) Outside Diameter, Black, 33 ft.

I've been plagued by rats chewing through the wires in my car when I visit my parents, who live way out in the middle of nowhere. Just driving to their home, I see rats run across the road. Now that spark plug wires have been replaced by the notorious thousand-dollar harness, I shake in my boots at the prospect of visiting them. I read somewhere on the internet that a spiral wire wrap would slow the attack of rodents, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Last weekend, I made a visit and came away with no apparent damage to the wires, so it appears to have worked, at least for this visit. Now, I think that the attraction to the wires is in a chemical involved in their manufacture, which may be why my parents have never had a problem with their own cars. They always buy old used cars, while I try to keep myself in something new. To be fair, my current vehicle is getting a little older and might not be attractive to the little vermin anymore.I realize that this might not be the primary reason people would buy this product. We use the stuff at my work to give stiffness to wires, so we can prop them out of harm's way (ie. keep them off of hot plates). Seemingly, everyone has their own particular use. I think the original idea was to simplify the wire chaos dangling from a computer, or some other such device. Personally, I've never felt the need to consolidate my wires like that, but now I've got a pile of wire wrap left over, so I might give it a try.

I used this harness to organize (at last!) all the cables that connect my TV/cable box/computer/NAS. It is kind of rubberized, so it is not fragile if twisted. I am an IT professional and now I proud of my installation!
