Ukulele Chord Dictionary (Alfred Handy Guide)

Invaluable, a perfect aid for beginners.
I've ordered a few books aimed at people learning ukulele and have been left confused and frustrated by all of them. They all start with pages of waffle about how great they are, how simple and helpful...then leap straight into complicated and confusing terminology, often failing to explain small things that leave you frustrated and unable to understand. This is just a very simple little book that gets straight to the important information you need to understand some of that confusing terminology. As well as all the great chord diagrams it also explains in a succinct way, the symbols used in sheet music and how it's written...that has helped me a lot as I've never been taught how to read music and all the guides...including the guides for dummies...have left me ripping my hair out and wanting to throw my ukuleles on a bonfire! This book is quite simply a little gem, if I can understand it (and my brain is obviously not wired up to understand the 'simple' explanations that other people find helpful), I'd say anyone should be able to understand it and find it useful. As it's so cheap I may buy multiple copies so I can keep one in each of my gig bags so I'm never without it wherever I go!

Great little chord dictionary
This ukulele chord dictionary is well organised to allow you to find chords quickly. Unlike some chord dictionaries it has the chords listed alphabetically, so you start with all different types of A and Am chords, then Ab and Abm chords, then B and Bm chords, etc. It certainly isn't an exhaustive list but it covers all the basic chords and most of the extensions you would need. It also has a handy chart on the back which shows all the notes on the fingerboard. It is advertised as "fits into your uke case or pocket" but it doesn't fit into my soprano uke case, and I think you would be somewhat uncomfortable if you tried to fit this into your pocket. But never mind, it's still a great book to have handy!

Simple and easy to use.
Good basic chords to start you off and move you a bit further along. Finally no more frustrating google searches.

Simple, clear chord book.
A great, clear little chord book. While as a guitar player you can transpose and chords quite easily (a Uke is like a guitar tuned to A with two less strings) I'm sure it'll be easier to just flick through this guide on occasion. I bought it primarily as a teaching aid to use with my kids and other new uke players. The size and shape of the book makes it perfect to slip into a Uke case.
