Nice glow and lasts years.
I bought this in April 2017 and it’s still working perfectly. I got two years out of the stock battery and I put in a new Eneloop one each year since. It ‘sweats’ inside and can have a good bit of water by season end but I’ve had no corrosion issues yet. Connections looks worse for wear but it’s still working. I’m in Ireland and we’re not know for our dry bright summers - still this has a nice warm glow every night.Going to buy another two and I just hope they haven’t changed components in the intervening years.

Very pretty and daughter loves it
I use this as a night light for my 2 year old. We set it on the windowsill in the morning to "catch the sunlight for night time." It produces a nice soft and comforting glow for several hours and best of all the batteries don't need replacing! You can switch it off too (there is a switch when you open the jar) in case it gets annoying or if you want to conserve the power. When it is switched on it comes on automatically when it gets dark. The jar charges better when you open the lid up to expose the solar panel and needs to be on a sunny windowsill ideally. I've not used it outside so cannot say whether it is durable in that setting but it has lasted well indoors where we have used it every night for several months now.

Nice product
Nice bright jar works perfectly and was delivered promptly. Highly recommended. Gives an orange glow throughout the night.

After running for less than a minute this light caused me to feel physically ill
I bought this light because the advertising hype would have you believe this item will recharge during the day, and then gently illuminate a soft amber glow at night. What the description fails to tell you is that the LED flashes violently from red to blue repeatedly like some kind of teenage disco lighting effect. There is nothing soothing or relaxing about this. I tell you it was so bad that my neighbours thought it was a police car with its emergency beacon activated. Why are all the pictures of this illustrating a soft amber glow? Where's the warnings that running this light for even a short time will result in a pounding migraine? I feel like I have been completely ripped off and i've chucked the box away so I guess I'm stuck with it now. When I opened it I discovered there was a switch with the options On1, Off and On2. I wondered for a moment if On1 might be the Psycho Rave setting, and On2 might be the soothing, relaxing setting I'd hoped for. No. On1 and On2 are identical. Both result in instant head ache.I feel like I've been ripped off. I suppose this item could be of use to some people. For example if you want to have a disco or illegal rave. Or it would be good as a burglar alarm. It certainly attracts the attention of everyone in your street if you leave it in the window. If however, like me, you just wanted a nice solar powered lamp that will add a little ambience in the evening, THIS IS NOT THE ITEM FOR YOU.HEED MY WARNING.

suck uk sun jar..but does it really suck!
I thought this was a really great idea. Im into solar power and quirky gadgets. I think the sun jar looks better than the moon jar. When this first came it was really good, lighted up nicely, was quite bright but not soo much to hurt. Quite a soft light giver. It does look good since the jar is frosted glass so its a mellow glow. It doesn't look too ugly in the day time but its no piece of awe inspiring art either! It is slightly random on the bedside table or windowsill, kind of out of place. I almost want to take it to the kitchen and put it with my other glass jars! Now i have had it a while it seems to work less well. It has a mind of its own ( perhaps its going through puberty) because it cant make its mind up if it wants to work or not! Sometimes it does mostly not very well thought, other times its more of a 'night' jar and gives off no light.I suppose nothing last forever though. When in its prime time it is quite amusing, nice to show off...to people who like glass jars... ( and of course gadget lovers :P ) and the switch from constant to automatic is quite a good aspect. Its gone down a lot in price now so its probably worth it for the money now but don't expect a lifelong partnership from it, its probably going to leave you in the dark after a year or so.

gorgeous little solar light
Super product. The first one I had developed a leak in the tp so back it went - so watch out for this when opening. The second one was just fine. You open the lid like a regular jar then switch the switch inside, close and seal the jar and leave it in a bright place.if you are lucky, the same night it will glow blue, if not, the next night (depends on sunlight and charge), and it glows very bright.Perfect for a patio table in the evenings and is enough light to see where your drink is and where you are sitting!Highly reccomended for something a little different

Not as bright as other colours
I've got 6 of these ..Blue and Pink but these yellow ones are not as good as the others!!! I also found water inside ? Very strange..

Works for me!
Reading the other reviews and people complaining about what little power they're getting, I am wondering how many people read the instruction properly and leave their sun jar in direct sunlight to charge, or do they merely leave it in daylight (which is insufficient). Mine works fine and I like having it on during those cosy nights. But don't expect enough light to illuminate your room. It's a dim glow, so the sun jar is to be used as a feature rather than a proper source of light. It also doesn't come on when there is other light around. Something which I think is a strength of the product. It would be perfect for children who need a little bit of light in their bedroom with which to go to sleep, but not too much to disturb their circadian rhythm. Put the sun jar on the floor by their bedroom door and it will be a comfort so they know where the door is, in case they need to make a dash for it to escape the monster under the bed.

These do suck! I purchased them last spring and loved them ...
These do suck! I purchased them last spring and loved them until they started to not charge. I put them away for the winter indoors in the dry. I put them out a few days ago and only one works now. They are very nice but they don't work and for the price that really Sucks!!
