OMG. This was a revelation!
This was my situation. Top of the range Dell desktop just out of warranty. I moved house and a 70Mb signal into the house was reduced to 20-40Mb by the time it got up the stairs via Wi-Fi.. My partner's rather old laptop was picking up 40Mb consistently. just three feet away. I've had few connection problems too where she hasn't. BT even replaced my router. Two days ago I lost Wifi completely. My partner had no problems. By elimination I got the problem down to a hardware problem with my computer. I got this little gadget today. I got it next day delivery so it's not coming from China, even though it's made there of course. Loaded the drivers, restarted the computer, inserted the widget, entered the wirless sccurity key, linked to the network first time and...66Mb!!! So if you've got a slow connection this might be a cheap answer. Especially if you've a Dell. Let me also share this with you. I put my Dell laptop (oldish but top of the range) three feet from the router. 20Mb. When I put in an ethernet cable...60Mb. This tells you, I think, that Dell network adapters are choking off a great slice of the router's output. If you've a wifi problem this is a really cost-effective gadget well worth trying. The instructions are simple and easily understood. The package and product seem good quality. This is probably the most cost-effective device I've ever bought. Thoroughly recommended.

A nice little product.
I was surprised just how good this product was for the price. It's having to fight through concrete walls and a floor to get to the wireless signal and the speed doesn't appear affected.
