Great resource. We have used it in many ways. ( but not as a sword)
This has been a great number line to use with my reception age child. It fits together like a jigsaw in units of 10 and putting it together in the right order has helped her get the hang of numbers up to 100.The numbers are 1 cm apart so it also doubles as a meter rule for measuring things. It stays together pretty firmly. We have a pack of cuisinaire (?) rods and they fit the groove in the middle so we can add and subtract them on the number line. 1cm = 1 unit of cuisinaire rod so they correspond perfectly.Sometimes we just use the first 2 sections so we have a little number line up to 20.It seems sturdy enough so far but my daughter is a very careful five year old. I'm a little worried that with rough usage the little jigsaw pegs could snap as the plastic is the hard kind.If not used as a sword, I expect this will be useful for many years to come.

Helps make maths fun
This is fun to plug together, and it works well with the Cuisenaire rods.It helps turn maths into a game (as it should be), and it is quite tactile and visual, reinforcing learning through these senses. If you are wondering whether to get these, search for some videos on how to use them.

Great for checking answers
I used some cheaper cuisenaire rods to go with this as the numicon ones are very expensive. It works really well to check answers.

Great for quick reference counting
Love that these are segmented so can be taken apart for easy storage. Fits rods perfectly (I have linking ones) and children find it easy to read.Only one wish, to have a stopper at zero so that rods can't slide past it for the purpose of misreading actual totals accurately.

My 5yrs old uses it to practise her maths adding and subtracting.
good for maths. My 5yrs old uses it to practise her maths adding and subtracting. .for adding you count forward and for subtracting you count backwards. Use for counting in 2s, 3s and so on. The plastic rod can be split in tens.and goes to 100..she is learning how many 10s she can find in 100.

disappointed not as shown
I found the picture misleading as you need the yellow/green inserts that are shown but they are not included.it should be made clear that these have to be ordered separately.

Poco male, come ho già detto ho usato i regoli italiani.
