This book is truly outstanding. I literally read sections of it through a veil of tears as I experienced 'Yes' moments one after another after another.Althogh the subject matter is deep and requires careful reading, the author presents the subject matter in a very readable and accessible style. For anyone looking to understand the secret teachings and esoteric mystery of the Christian religion, you could find no better resource.This book marks a major milestone in my life's search for spiritual truth. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

This is not one of the beginners guides that throw all the theories at you in a short space of time resulting in information overload.It is a more lucid attempt at getting to the core of the matter in hand, concerning itself with the development of the relationship between the Ego and the Self which lies at the heart of the problems that manifest themselves psychologically.The text is illustrated not only with quotations from Jung but other scholars such as St Augustine,Elias Ashmole as well as relevant biblical passages and makes prolific use of illustration.I'd recommend this as an introduction to Jung as it seemed to me to be a more comprehensive overview of individuation with a historical view of the development of the process.

This excellent introduction to many of the basic tenets of Jung's ideas is worth six stars. The section on Job is outstanding.My own inability to engage with the latter parts of the book reflect older inabilities to engage. It's only recently I have returned to Jung having been frustrated by earlier encounters with his work and works about his work. I retain the frustration and didn't finish the book after its turn to particular dream analysis and alchemy. Possibly, at age 65, I'm still too young to appreciate.
