Not to practice from
I would say this book is more like an overview of what you’ll learn. I wanted to teach my 5 years old from this book but it’s going too fast and not enough practice. Nice and colourful book thought and I’m hoping to use it again when we move a bit forward. I would recommend Teaching little fingered to play or Piano Time.

The tunes are brilliantly selected, I was enraptured and compelled to both practice over and over as well as move on to the next. They are not the standard beginners tunes but beautiful choices that I felt immediately immersed within even from the very beginning.I had expected that beginning to play the piano would be a trial and difficult but when the simple tunes that I was playing sounded so lovely I've become hooked and practicing has become a compulsion. Thank you for this beautiful book.I utterly recommend.

A great introduction to the piano!
Having been a piano teacher myself I felt the book was excellent. My only criticism is that there is way too much dialogue in this otherwise lovely book. There are huge chunks of unnecessary dialogue which dominates most pages which a young child could not absorb. However the book is a great introduction to learning the piano and I applaud the writers wholeheartedly.

Good
A lot of information but seems too difficult for a 6year old. No letters to follow just notes. But otherwise would be great for a dedicated 8 + years wanting to learn

Could definitely help a self motivated beginner find their way around a keyboard and certainly play the initial tunes relatively easily, but would be extremely difficult to learn the rhythmic skills without basic support. Lovely colourful presentation and usual Usborne quality of printing/layout etc... Some students may be distracted by all the colourful pictures and designs...the actual music is not particularly large unlike other beginner piano tutor books, so perhaps not the best choice for a very young child.

Keyboard made easy
Learning a new instrument can be difficult, but not with this book.If you have purchased a keyboard recently and still struggling to get to grip, then look no further. This book is simple yet informative. You will not be disappointed with the easy to follow instructions, as everything is laid out in simple English.I would recommend this book for people of all ages. So if your still thinking about it, just buy it! You won't go wrong!
