These are great!
I love these cedar planks; they are the perfect size for us. This is a great product at a great price and the delivery was very fast (it was delivered before the suggested time frame). The item arrived exactly as described.The planks are very easy to use so if you have never grilled with a plank before, don’t worry. They work so well on the grill. The smoke flavour made for a more elegant meal with that perfect cedar flavouring. This is a great addition to your grilling recipe repertoire for this summer.I would order again from this seller.

Great innovative product of high quality
I recently used one of the 6 cedar planks to grill some trout and it worked very well. As a South African who is now living permanently in the UK, I miss having a braai (bbq) without good quality wood that adds a beautiful fully fragrant smokiness to any food griiled on an open fire. For me, wood chip smoking just isn't the same. The smell eminating from these planks produces a lovely aroma that is quite satisfying and adds a subtle, but distinct flavour to the food. I have given it 4 stars as the only thing I wasn't keen on was the splintery roughness of the plank I used. Not all the planks in the pack are as rough, so I'm expecting more from the other planks. It would be better, in my view, to have a smoother plank to cook on. Also, I suggest not soaking this plank for too long. I did it for around 3 hrs, which seemed to inhibit more smoke from being produced. I reckon 1 hr should do it... Just enough to avoid it catching alight, but enough for the fire to burn the wood a bit to create a good deal of smoke. Hope this helps...

Great for cooking seafood
I use a Traeger Pro 20 and these planks fit in it perfectly. I’ve used the same 2 planks twice now at full burn (with 4 remaining) , after soaking in water, and they’ve still got plenty of life on them. I use them exclusively for cooking seafood for my wife (who’s a pescatarian). These planks are particularly useful because it means I can cook meat and fish at the same time without ‘contaminating’ the fish with meat juices. The planks also protect and help flavour the delicate fish without the risk of burning or falling between the grates.So far I’ve smoked freshwater prawns and monkfish kebabs (see picture) and they’ve turned out perfectly. I am delighted with the quality of these planks and thorougly recommend them.

Good…but
Good product but this is the second time that one of the boards has arrived unusable…this time the board was split, last time one of the boards had a large hole from a knot. Frustrating…good product but…

May look expensive but actually good value for money and a real hit with fish lovers.
Finally the weather was good enough to give these planks a go this weekend. Not tried anything too adventurous yet, just a large Salmon steak cooked on the rough surface. Everyone agreed that the plank gave the fish a fantastic hint of cedar and smokiness. A real success. The great benefit of plank cooking is that, because the plank is soaked in water before use, the fish stayed wonderfully moist even though it sat on the plank on the BBQ for 10 minutes while it cooked. Note: I put the lid on the BBQ during cooking to heat the fish steak through properly and I placed the coals to the side of the plank so that there was no direct heat under the plank.After cooking. a quick scrub under a running hot water tap cleaned the plank up to enable it to be re-used. I cooked on the plank three times before throwing it away. As I had cut a plank in half, anyway (the planks are huge - half a plank is easily big enough to cook a salmon steak big enough for two people - these planks may not look cheap but actually represent good value for money.The real result is that, after years of my wife being sidelined at BBQs because she doesn't eat meat, she now has a proper dish prepared for her with real BBQ flavours that she can enjoy with the rest of the family.

Cedar Planked Smoked Salmon
We bought these planks to try with a large side of salmon. The planks were neither long enough or wide enough to support the side so we cut the tail portion off and actually had to use 2 planks side by side as 1 was not big enough to support the remaining piece on its own. The cooking result was perfect however, everybody (10) of us all had a piece at our BBQ party and were well impressed with the flavor, the texture and moistness of the cooked salmon.The planks as supplied would be perfect for pre-cut salmon portions, it would be great to have an option for larger pieces for a whole salmon as well such as the one we cooked. If you haven't tried cooking fish this way yet, don't procrastinate any more, go for it, you will not be disappointed !

Good value and long enough to hold a side of salmon
Have purchased these several times. Great for BBQing salmon. Soak the plank in water for a few hours, put the plank on the hot BBQ for 10 min to dry it out a bit, turn it over, place the salmon on top, add a sprinkle of brown sugar, and close the lid for about 15 min depending on size of the fish. Delicious. If the heat isn't too high and the plank isn't too charred then it can be washed and reused another time on the other side before disposing of it.
