The Art Shop Skipton Fine Detail Paint Brush Set - Pack of 8

These have been my go-to brushes for painting miniatures for Warhammer 40,000 for several years now.With proper cleaning they keep their shape and point and includes some of the best value for money 5/0 and 10/0 brushes I've ever used. Some of the detailing I've managed to achieve has been astounding but my main reason for buying them is that they have been, at least for me, just as effective, reliable and flexible as brushes that are much more expensive.Typically they give me a year of service before needing to replace them and, at this price, that's not bad going. I've never experienced any of the delivery issues mentioned by other customers and Im just about to buy this year's set. I can't recommend these brushes enough.

I bought these for my miniature portraits and they are essential.Smallest size is 10/0 which is the one I use most often, but it is still in good condition and not significantly splayed (I'm not overly gentle with them)Came well packaged and bristles were protected.The micro detail series are better than the allmedia series brushes (both come in the set) and have a nice gold handle.

I do a lot of enamel paint work on metal 12th scale dolls house ornaments etc. I wanted some very fine brushes for delicate work.These worked really well - making it easy to paint tiny details, like flowers on dresses, without mishaps. You get a good selection of sizes.They washed out in brush cleaner well and you get the little sleeves to push over the brush tips for storing. That way they don't get bent out of shape in a box.I am very happy with this set of brushes, at a good price and will buy again in the future.

I collect Warhammer and these brushes have been of great use. There is a size of brush for just about every job in this set; the larger ones are useful for base-coating and layering on models and the fine detail brushes can easily be used for tiny details such as eyes or other small decorations. I would recommend getting a larger brush or two if your intention is to paint vehicles, as it would take a long time with just this set, but for infantry or smaller jobs and finer details these are an excellent choice. I've been through three or four sets of these already in just over a year, but I am a little careless with maintenance and I'm sure that with the right care the brushes will last a good long while. In conclusion, the brushes feel great to use and the range of sizes you get in the set means you can handle a variety of tasks. The relatively low cost to replace them is also great; in this set you get eight brushes that could comfortably be used for fine detail work, whereas Citadel is charging twice as much for a single fine detail brush. Consider trying these before buying a more expensive brand.

I've been using these for about 2 years for doing extreme detail model making. They have held up beautifully.I've only had to trim off a couple of hairs that I caught in the cover (my fault)They hold the paint well and don't spread out when painting.The two bristle lengths allow you to select the one you need for your work - short for point detail, long for lining.They work best with thinned paint, I have found best results with Vallejo model air pre-thinned paints.I have bought a second set and cut down my original set to use under my magnifier.

I have only just started using these so I will see if they last but so far Im very pleased with this set of fine brushes. They are a nice set of various sized fine brushes which I am currently using with acrylic paints. I have always used a more expensive brush but even these wear out quite quickly when you are painting with a relatively heavy medium. This set was less than the price of one of the brushes I normally use so we will see which ends up the most cost effective. To date I am very happy with these and if they continue to wear and wash well and dont fray then I shall be ordering another set. Based on how they have performed so far I reckon Im going to be very happy.

So I bought these as a cheaper alternative to the Citadel Warhammer paint brushes and these are fantastic, particularly the micro detail brushes. I’ve purchased a second set already after only 1 week of use (because I like to have options rather than any fault with the brushes!) and will definitely be buying them again

I am not impressed with 50% of the brushes. I have not used the gold brushes that much but the two smallest ones are no good, the bristle are seperating so you get a blob of paint forming down the bristles and some stick ou away from the main ones.
