For the price you'd be daft not to get one!
I find it very difficult to fault this item for the price. In the past I have put off buying a support like this as most of the reviews I have read are fairly negative, but I decided to give it a go as at least if it was too flimsy or poorly made it could be returned with no questions asked. It seems very well made, not perfect or in the same league as Zacuto for example but everything fits together well and, despite what others have said, I have no issues with the tightness of the clamps - they do not rotate or move on the bars if tightened properly. I purchased the extra rear weight and also a couple of Small Rig extension bars along with the connecting screws to give me greater movement and flexibility when balancing the camera.I will be using this with a Sony NX5E camcorder which weighs in at about 4-5kg with radio microphone and LED light and so far have not had an issue when I tested it on the rig. It seemed well balanced and when on the shoulder the weight of the camera was very much reduced. The test footage I shot was very much smoother than just hand holding the camera. It does not replace a Steadicam, Tripod or Gimbal but it does considerably reduce the shake and wobble you get when walking with the camera held in the hand.I like the fact it can be mounted on my video tripod without having to swap the QR mounts around. I've just screwed my main Libec tripod QR plate to the base of the Neewer and it fits just fine. There are a couple of things that could be improved upon. The shoulder pad could be wider than it is to easier fit the slope on the average persons shoulder so that it keeps the camera more level, however this can be fixed with some stick on padding. Also the front cross rod with the grips on is, for me, a bit too short at 10" (25.5cm) as I would like my hands a bit further apart for added stabilty. This is easily rectified and i've since ordered the Small Rig 15mm rod set at 16" (40.8cm) to replace it, but an option from Neewer to have a longer length would be great. Also the handles would be much better if they were angled out slightly to match the natural way hands and wrists are when using the rig.Overall this is a very decent bit of kit but it does not replace the types of platform I have for the various cameras used which depends on the actual job, these range from 'Steadicam' clones to the Ronin M 3-Axis Gimbal. I can see this being very useful for weddings and stuff that requires a lot of moving around when a tripod would just get in the way and a Gimbal would become too heavy after a short time.If you decide to purchase this I am sure you'll be pleasantly surprised how good it is for the price. Using it will take a bit of practice (like all supports) and it should be balanced with the camera equipemnt mounted on it so you are not supporting too much weight at the front.Bottom line: A good piece of kit at a very decent price and I recommend it highly.

Excellent value for money - with good results
I wanted something that would give me good steady shots, but save me having to lug a full sized tripod around and found this. For £49 I was a bit sceptical of the quality, but took a punt. The order was delivered very quickly and on first impressions I was amazed at the quality. The rig went together really easily and comes with a quick release plate making it easy to attach the camera. My Panasonic HC-VX870 camcoder looks the part when attached, and when the rig is placed on the shoulder the screen is in the ideal viewing position. When in use the position is comfortable, and you can get some really stable shots, even when panning. I've only used this in the field once so far and I'm very happy with the results.

Good for the money.
This seems like a good bit of kit for the money.I won't deny being a bit concerned - I have read reviews saying the hand grips work loose. They seem pretty well made so time will tell.A little bit short and I bought a counterweight - that's fine - but it could have done being a little longer.

Average but okay for the money.
Yeah, it’s okay. That’s about as excited as I can get about it. It works to some degree but I wouldn’t buy another or recommend it. No matter how you set it up, the camera will always be off to one side of you, so you get a crooked neck from looking over. Beyond that, it’s pretty basic and kinda does the job.

A Good Purchase
I'm impressed with this for the money, light, versatile and secure. I was aware of the comments regarding the front handles in other reviews but have seen no evidence of any weakness in the handle clamps whatsoever. For clarification I'm using this rig with a GH4, lens adaptor and some pretty heavy zoom lenses 100-400/50-500, plus a 7 inch monitor, external audio recorder and follow focus unit. It seems to manage fine with no signs of weakness or excessive flexing. The lens mount QR plate is nice and remarkably its the same width and profile as the manfrotto plates for their high end video tripods, I can just take my long glass off the tripod and shove it straight on there without changing the QR plate....excellent!! If I had one criticism its the accessibility of the height adjustment screws at the front and rear of the camera mount, in some positions one or other of them can be a little difficult to get at but you can always secure it using just one of them, its sufficient. Pleased with my purchase so far and will revisit the review in furture with a longer term update.

Very good system
First the con's its light weight aluminium. It won't last as long as a high quality system. That's the down side. ( High quality systems are over 10* the cost of this rig)The positives. It is modular, adjustable and all 15mm accessories from the all the other well known makers fit it. Including extension/replacement rails. All the fittings are metal except the end caps that are plastic. This is not a problem as the end caps are there to protect the threads and stop dust getting in the rods.On it's own it is light weight. (though you can add accessories and things until you can't lift it :-) )It has a VIDEO quick release plate that should work with video cameras as much as DSLR'sThe best recommendation I can give is: We had one for a few weeks and bought another

Great and effective rig at fantastic price!
Having an easily portable and effective shoulder rig was a necessity for my filmmaking. I looked at several different products, ranging from under £100 to £1000+After doing my research and a lot of review reading, I decide to purchase the Neewer shoulder rig, making it the first Neewer product in my collection of equipment. After more than 6 months using the product, I have nothing but praise. Like any piece of equipment, practice and discovering the best and most effective ways to use it is key, and this shoulder rig has proven to be invaluable for a range of projects. This has led me into becoming a returning Neewer customer. Great product at a fantastic price!
