Stunning Lamp Shade
Despite the initial hiccup with the instructions, I am thrilled with the end result. The finished lamp shade looks even more beautiful than I had imagined, casting a warm and inviting glow that instantly enhances the atmosphere of my room. The intricate design creates a mesmerizing play of light and shadow, instantly elevating the ambiance of any room. The lamp shade itself is made of high-quality materials that feel durable and long-lasting. I opted for the white color, which adds a touch of modern elegance to my space, but there are various other colors available to suit different decor styles. Assembling the lamp shade was an enjoyable experience, thanks to the clever interlocking pieces that fit together like a puzzle. Once I got the hang of it, the process was surprisingly straightforward, and I was able to complete it in no time. Though I must admit, it took a few attempts to assemble it – I guess you could say I turned it into a 'puzzleception'! However, I must mention that the included instructions left much to be desired. They were vague and unclear, making it difficult to figure out the assembly process at first. Fortunately, I turned to YouTube for installation videos, which provided much-needed guidance and made the process much smoother.

Awful
Seriously the worst thing I have ever bought. The instruction manual is not worth sending. Small print and makes no sense. The online videos are not much better. Too fast and I actually got to the last row but it was the most bizarre shape ever. That took a week. Sorry returned them. I've had similar before and they were easy to assemble.

Small size more fiddly than larger
These puzzle lights are great - good value and look modern and classy, given that they are made of plastic pieces. Assembly is OK once you get the hang of it, but still takes a bit of spatial thinking to understand what's going on. Completion is surprising satisfying, given that you're making a lampshade. It's worth knowing that the smaller size is more difficult to make (IMO), because the individual pieces, being smaller, are relatively stiffer and more less easy to flex to fit than those in the medium size.In addition, it is more difficult to hang the smaller size. The fitting mechanism is basically to run the pendant lamp flex through one of the rosettes where five pieces intersect (see the images - you will see "rosettes" where the pieces join - some are have three pieces intersecting, some have five). You have to completely undo the rosette to fit the bulb and fitting through and remake the rosette in situ - I needed a stepladder rather than a chair to do this so that I could see what I was doing from above the lampshade when hanging. Again the greater flex of the medium-sized pieces made this a relatively straightforward task for the medium sized, but a nightmare for the small size. In fact I found it impossible to hang the smaller size on a standard UK white flex without cutting a little away from the "hook" of each of the five pieces that joint to form the rosette - a hole punch was ideal for this (but scissors would be equally fine). Once this mod was made, hanging was straightforward.Lastly, an observation: I used these to replace spherical paper lampshades. I used small and medium puzzle shades to replace similar small and medium paper shades. My sense is that the small size appears smaller than the paper shade it replaced (and perhaps a little too small), while the medium seemed a little larger (but just fine).

Brilliantly engineered…
…but unfortunately you need to be a brilliant engineer to be able to assemble it. I normally love a challenge like this, but this was so frustrating that it had me swearing like a trooper so loud the neighbours could hear - and if you thought assembly was frustrating, wait until you try and fit it.It’s a beautiful object and it creates just the kind of soft light I was looking for, but it’s almost not worth it.

Very pretty, if a bit retro!
Gives entertainment while assembling in various ways, and every time I look at mine, I smill at the memory!

Just don’t !
If I could have got this actually built I’d have said it was good value... however it had to go back before I systematically dismembered my living room furniture in frustration. I’ve bought and successfully built a few shade kits so no novice.... but this one was designed to induce rage. The instructions are poor. The licking mechanism is poorer stillAnd the layers spring apart before getting any to join. Plus.... I discovered half way thtouhg attempted build that the lower aperture would be too small too insert a bulb when finished so short of building it onto the light pendant while up a ladder or removing the fitting ... it was never going to work anyway. Bearing in mind it was close to impossible to complete while comfortably seated then it had to go back. Thank at least for prime free returns.

Looks beautiful
Yes they are a little challenging to put together, but as long as you do it calmly and read the instructions it's not too hard (hooks of the same type always go together is the best thing to remember). For the price this has been the best value per buck we have put into our living space.

Gorgeous and easy to assemble (once you figure out the trick)
I have 3 pendant lights over our kitchen island that always felt too bright so I purchased these to cover them up a bit more and make it more of a glow. These worked brilliantly! They elevate the look of my kitchen without needing to fully replace the pendant lights and at around $10-$11 each for the small size - it was a no brainer. I did read lots of reviews from those who felt it was hard to put them together and I can relate a bit. The first one I put together started off well (I made the initial star/circle) but something just wasn’t fitting together properly in one section and it took me longer than I’d like to admit to realize it was because I had accidentally put one piece in backwards so it threw off the pattern but not by an obvious error. The key to assembling these is that you need to be aware that the pieces have an angle to them (they’re not rectangular, closer to a parallelogram) so one side can be referred to as the “front” and the flip side as the “back”. Each corner has a little hook shape with two being smaller and two being bigger. For the large ball shape (pictured) you’ll use all 30 pieces and they all must be front facing (ie, put them down all with the same corner higher than the other, don’t flip any). Then, you basically just start by taking five and connecting the lower small corners of each together at the same point to form a star shape. From there you essentially will just keep connecting small corners to other small corners (always five together) and large corners to other large corners (always three together). The pieces will kind of zigzag in diagonal directions, but the hooked corners always match to each other in terms of size. Once I did the first one and figured out how I’d messed the one area up, I completed the other two within 10 minutes. I left the last five small corners open and slid it up/over top of my pendant lights, then hooked them all together around the hanging cord. This is an amazingly cost-effective way to update lighting and I highly recommend these. I plan to buy some large versions to replace the lampshades in my living room so it all matches up. Super happy I got them!!!

So schön
