Years of use and well made
Works well. I can always count on Starrett. Use for cutting holes in various types of table tops. When cutting thick, remove hole saw after 3/4 the way place board underneath and clamp tight. With drill bit attachment only drill all the way through. Turn board over, attach hole saw and viola nice cuts. If it binds let it cool. I take a Phillips head screw driver the same size of the drill hole, place it in the hole and carefully / slowly bend the screwdriver to remove partial stock. Noise will almost disappear. Continue drilling. I have at least 9 different sizes. This one replaced one that I wore out. Use many times at once then put away until the next project.

Very aggressive cut-be careful with fine work.
Used this to cut holes in finished plywood for cable management grommets. The teeth are so aggressive that it jumps (hand drill) and can (and did) ruin some pieces. I suggest that you run it in reverse at high speed and light pressure to create a small groove to keep it from jumping. Once you do that, it’ll work well on fine pieces.

Accurate and durable
The Starrett Deepcut and Fastcut holesaws have held up very well and cut accurately on 4130 tube (a tougher cut for any holesaw). I end up with a better fit-up than with other brands. My only issues have been inadequate rigidness in my clamping and quill/arbor, not with the saws themselves but these Starretts have tolerated even that. There is a big difference between a drill chuck and a mill or lathe setup with arbors that fit directly into the collet but I've done plenty with a chuck. The saws I've used the most have seen a few dozen cuts and still cut fine.Be mindful of cutting speed and feed and they will last. Also, they are affordable.

Starrett Quality - Made in Brazil
Makes good, clean cuts in 1/4 inch plywood with minimal tear out. Worked great for me.

Poor quality. Buy something else!
The yellow barrel detached from the center piece on first use. It screws on and kept coming undone. I had to put it back together and tighten it with the aid of a wrench. The yellow protective paint came off in spots with one use.It was used to cut the top plank on a regular wood picnic table, the basic kind you can buy at your local big box hardware store made of only basic wood. It cut very slowly. You needed to be very careful to use just the right amount of pressure as connected to a good quality, well-powered cordless drill. Otherwise, it would bind or not cut.I am puzzled by the good reviews? They do not match the quality of the item I received.
