Snuggle Safe & Sound Microwave Heatpad

I wouldn't be without my Snuggle Safe 'hot water bottle.' Recently on a trip away I forgot to pack my Snuggle Safe (eeek!) but fortunately it was Amazon to the rescue, who delivered my replacement/spare to where I was staying the following day. Microwave it before bedtime, and it's still warm (not cold and clammy like a traditional hot water bottle) in the morning. Okay, so it's not particularly comfortable to lie on, but if it's chilly and you need warming up, pop it in bed with you and you're warm and toasty for the night. Having various health problems, including a long-standing back problem, I use mine all year round. Put it against your back for back pain or muscle spasms, on the tummy for period pains, put your feet on it to warm up cold toes, hold it against your ear for ear-ache...the list of uses is endless!Fresh out of the microwave it's most definitely HOT! Eight hours (or more) later though and there's still a fair bit of warmth in it. It's perfect for anyone who struggles filling a normal hot water bottle (perfect for the elderly or disabled, as there's nothing to spill filling it). After a few minutes in the microwave (6 minutes in my 850 watt microwave - there's times shown in the instructions for various wattages) it really does stay warm ALL night, and unlike some microwaveable heat packs it's reuseable without having to go through any complicated rituals to get it into a state where it can be reused. The heat retaining gel stuff stays firmly inside its solid plastic cover (it looks kind of like a solid frisbee, just under an inch in depth) so there's no danger of leaks like you get with those flimsy gel-filled hot water bottles, and it comes complete with its own fleecy cover which is washable. It stays warm all night (did I mention that before?), which in my opinion is one of its best features, and as long as you have a microwave (though I'm sure I've read somewhere that you can warm it in hot water in a microwaveless emergency, though I'm not 100% on that one) it's so easy to use - no spilling boiling water trying to get it into the small opening of a hot water bottle, or fiddling to screw the cap on (after of course making sure you've not got loads of air in your hot water bottle).Advantages: safe, stays warm all night, reusable, comes with its own fleecy coverDisadvantages: a bit uncomfortable to lie on, requires a microwave to heat itConclusion: BUY ONE! You'll wonder why you didn't do it years ago!

The last winter was cold, dark and harsh - and it would have been hell without this product! I love how it lives up to the all night heat it promises. It really does last 8 hours. You might have to leave it in the microwave for longer than the recommended time however - the trick I found in order to ensure that you don't damage the product is to increase the microwave time by increments. After the initial (recommended) time, microwave it for an additional 30 seconds, then check if it's hot enough, then another 30 seconds, etc. For an 800w microwave 7 and a half minutes should do it. That's what I do, at least, and it lasts me the whole night.Note that it WILL be HOT. Caution also, when it's been heated for too long, the stuff inside turns to liquid - when this happens, try to cool it down.What I didn't expect when I received it was how hard and heavy it is. it's NOT a hot water bottle, don't be mislead by that. It's like a brick, so to those looking for something snuggly, this isn't the product you'd want to hug. It is also very heavy, and to be frank, it's also perhaps as heavy as a brick.But - ultimately, it's a great product. I can't complain, because I bought it for its general heating purpose and not so I can snuggle it, and it fulfills that purpose wonderfully. Excellent for a warm (although not snuggly) allnighter!

When you heat these up and first handle it through the cover it does only feel slightly warm. However when the heat starts to emanate out from the centre they can throw a fair amount of heat out so can be a tad hot against bare skin at first if you were to put your feet / legs on it. Great put next to you in the bed and they are still warm by morning . I also have a hottie micro pad at the other end. They are a hard disc so not flexible for lying on or bending around painful areas. Will be great if we get power cuts. I wouldn’t mind a second one. Way better than hot water bottles .

The product is solid and heavy, about a kilo. As a heating product it’s fine but uncomfortable to use to mould to any painful body part. I bought this to give to my 95 year old very able mother. If she dropped it on her foot she’d have broken bones! She’ll be sticking to a soft snuggly hot water bottle.

This heats up quickly and retains heat for hours. The only downside is it is very hard. Ideal for anyone nervous about filling a hot water bottle from a kettle.

I bought this for my mum to replace an old hot water bottle. I heated it up in the microwave for the allocated 8 minutes and it stayed very warm all day. My mum hugged it to her and was very pleased with it.It is hard but it softens slightly when warmed. Mum used to use the gel filled hotties but she got through so many as they burst after a time.The Scottie has been a great success. I purchased it after reading so many positive reviews and I'm so glad I did.

I love these (got two). Great for heating the bed and creating a lovely "hot pocket" under the covers. Even hours later, I will use this against knee, or back, in bed. Also great working from home with this in the small of my back. Even on a cold day, with this, I really wasn't tempted to give the heating a burn.

I have bought these on several occasions for myself and as presents, as they are a really superb product.. So safe and efficient and keep their heat well into the morning, after just a few minutes in the microwave. No risk of spilling boiling water trying to fill a bottle, or leaking

BELLISSIMO I GATTI LO ADORANO. Ho un microonde di scarsa potenza, però al massimo 700 watt...riscalda benissimo il cuscino....Il gatto ultrafelice appena sente il rumore del microonde TIN....arriva felice perchè sa che ...il tepore è servito ! (dura 4-5 ore)

J'ai Reçu une bouillotte certes, mais pas celle que j'avais commandé, pas le temps pour la retourner donc je vais faire avec ça, deçu de cet achat !

E' come descritto. La mia amica in Inghilterra lo ha preso x il suo cucciolo che adesso dorme sereno e felice. Purtroppo il mio cane nn lo vuole... diciamo che lo ignora! Comunque non c'e' freddo per adesso (anche se siamo a Natale!).. semmai arrivera' l'inverno VERO ci riprovo
