Q: Whats the best before date

Sorry, have no idea. These were sent as a gift to someone. Remember, the "best before date" is not the "you'll get sick after" date. These stay wonderful long after the date. I've had them before!

It’s a 4 pound tin, correct info on the description but incorrect photo which shows 5 pound tin

I didn't know there was a Christmas tin. However close to Christmas I have ordered in the past (I buy a 1.8 kg tin every Christmas) I get the usual blue tin. Perhaps you have to find a seller with the Christmas tin (if they do one) on his page in the photo.

Q: Does anyone know the width of the tin? Would it fit a 10inch cake?

I don't have the tin with me, but whilst it is an attractive tin, and the biscuits are excellent and DO NOT use Palm Oil...I think the tin may not be perfect for cake because I don't think the lid is a particularly tight fit. As you may know, the biscuits themselves are on several layers, separated by decorative paper that also serves as a practical vapour barrier in effect. Likewise, each small pile of 4 our so biscuits are in paper cups, which looks nice, but also serves to keep any moisture issues down to keep the biscuits dry and crisp. But the lid is not a struggle to get off, so may not be ideal if you want to keep cake in the tin for longer periods, such as Xmas or Wedding cake say. The tin is delivered with a tape around the lid, that effectively seals the contents. But once removed, as I say, the lid is not that tight a fit, so it could be too loose a fit for cake storage. Others may disagree.
