Bigjigs Toys Wooden Magnetic Fishing Game Set with Rod

My little boy loved this present! He found it easy to handle and I can see him having to concentrate whilst "fishing" so it's benefiting his fine motor skills whilst he enjoys himself; the design is lovely, it seems fairly sturdy and well made and my son loves the little fishies. The box it comes in is great as it will last as long as the game does. We are going to use it at our circus themed party instead of hook a duck and I'm sure it'll go down a treat!

My grandson loves the little fish bit my finger song so I attempted to buy a fishing game . Have you any idea of the hideous plastic crap that is out there . Well I did find a few fishing games on amazon looked at them, all read reviews pondered, then decided on the big jigs one .I am not disappointed and he loves it , it's really heavy duty too he's quite a robust little boy . We have played together and sometimes the dog joins in ! The rods are sturdy the fish and sea animals are bright all in all it's a great toy well worth that little bit extra .

It's a very good concept, this game teaches many skills, it's fun to play, all the pieces are colourful and well made, good value for money. However, I had to ask for a replacement as the slots in the main four pieces of the 'tank' were not deep enough to hold together steadily, so when I put the tank up it was all wobbly, and a slightest touch would cause it to collapse. I did receive a no-fuss replacement and the 'tank' is more steady but not completely, so you have to be careful not to be rough with it, which is of course difficult if young children are playing. In my opinion, this is an inherent design fault caused by the slots in the wood being too shallow. And that is a great shame because the game is really good and fun. I suppose the price should compensate for it, but on the other hand, why not make a steady toy for a pound or two more?

Great product

This is a super wooden version of the fishing game which I have only seen made of cardboard before. My 2 year old grandson soon got the hang of it and thinks it's great fun. All the pieces are nicely finished and the magnets on the rods latch on to the fish with a nice positive click. Once attached the pieces stay on while he carries them across the room. Would definitely recommend.

My son is two and a half and loves this game! It's presented in a nice box which lets you tidy the toy away easily. The bright colours and the different types of sea creatures are gorgeous. My son loves catching the fish, and it encourages conversation and story-telling as we play. Really good price.

There was a slight delay because of stock sold out but I found the supplier very helpful and very friendly sorting this problem.When the product arrived I could understand why it was sold out I was suprised how well made and colourful it was my two year old attention was soon caught and he loves playing with it specialy as it is a two player game which is also great means I can teach colours and names of the sea creatures which he is now saying.Any negatives you may ask well the only one I can think of it is smaller than I thought it was going to be, but now thinking about it, its a good size for a toddler and not too small for the pieces to be dangerous.I would recomend this great traditional product.

As with other reviewers, I agree that this product is let down by the flimsy nature of the 'pool'. The four sides slot together, but the 'slots' aren't deep enough so it easily falls apart. Also, there is no base - something that would be very easy to rectify. Having said that, my three year-old twin grandsons were very happy to play with it, and it was only Grandpa that was concerned with product quality!The service from the supplier was first-class.
