Was great value!
Like others have said, this is a huge pack and lasts for a long time! The dried mushrooms are a good size overall, you do get some bigger and some small ones, as one would expect. I can't really complain about that, sometimes you wants small mushrooms, sometimes you want bigger ones. All you need to do is soak them (chopped or whole) in hot water for about 30min and you're good to go!Small tip, don't waste the leftover water, it's great Mushroom stock! This actually works better for making mushroom stock than using fresh mushrooms!I see the price has increased quite a lot! I originally bought this for 20£, a lot better value for money.

Very good Shitakies
These are very good large mushrooms with a great smoky taste, and good value given the quality. They do need reconstituting well because of the size - I add them to a pan of boiling water, bring back to the boil, stir and cover for at least half an hour.

GOOD VALUE MUSHROOMS
This is the first time I've used these. A large quantity (1kg) of full heads with a few broken pieces. Overall a good value product.I've never liked dried mushrooms. They are rather soggy and rubbery after rehydration. I only gave them 4 stars. I wouldn't give dried mushrooms any higher. However, I haven't fully experimented with these to see if I can get them to a better texture after soaking; they need at least 45 minutes.I would buy them again; The flavour is fairly good for dried mushrooms. They are packed nicely and the bag is robust. Buy some 4ltr Tupperware containers, or a big 10 ltr: you'll need to. They take up a lot of space.Just making some mushroom soup to see how they fair.

Delicious.
A very large bag which is going to last a long time. Good quality and some of the mushrooms are quite large. Didn't need to soak them too long and they were ready to use. Good flavour too. Very happy with the product and was going to order another bag straight away but the price has increased a lot so will now wait till I finish the bag.

Excellent quality, size and value
Took a punt on this due to some reviews having had issues with the moisture absorbent packet leaking; fortunately this was intact, with resultant good quality shiitake mushrooms. Huge pillow sized packet internal dimensions roughly 450mm x 300mm and filled with lovely earthy, aromatic shiitake mushrooms. The majority of the mushrooms are also of unexpected large size. Dry diameter ranging from 35mm to 70mm with quite short stalks too as a bonus (stalks would be heavy and are inedible/chewy). Easy to soak and cook as per any other shiitake mushrooms.

Great product and good value
These mushrooms are great and also good value for money. Buying the same quantity of dried shiitake mushrooms from a mainstream supermarket costs £75 and so I'm happy to buy in bulk and store them. You need to rinse them before soaking but then rinse again after they have soaked and also sieve the water if you want to use the fantastically flavoured water after soaking ( as there could be some residual dust or other particles ).I've never bought these before but will keep buying when I run out. The delivered product is the size of a small pilow and you will need several good sized mason jars, or sealable bags, to store them in.

Great value for money, be sure to re-seal
Amazing value for money, they rehydrate to a good size. Good taste and texture. They should soak at least over night. You're not going to be using all of it, so be sure to find some method to re-seal these. Personally, I took out a couple handfuls and put them in a kilner jar and the rest I re-sealed into pockets using a vacuum sealer. Also, as others have noted, this package as it comes, is huge. About the size of a pillow. Another reason to re-seal into smaller portions.
