A very reasonably priced original Doulton water filter

Have always replaced the filter frequently

Got this to replace another one, upgraded to the ultra as it removes lead as well as other contaminants. Much better value than I would get in Ireland!

Filtered tap water , brilliant.

One believes that the mains tap water in UK is of sufficiently good quality to be easily potable for good health. Looking at the specifications of the Ultracarb filter as to what it removes & is capable of removing coupled with the fact that as months progress with a filter, the flow rate reduces, meaning that there are impurities in water that the filter removes.It is not really possible to discern any improvement in taste. Having said that, occasionally there is a whiff of chlorine, which clearly the filter stops. However the claim of removing calcium, meaning to me the ability to soften water, is questionable as I cannot observe any significant reduction with hardness indicators.Despite the reservations of complete claims, I'm more than happy to use the filter for drinking & cooking. This filter is produced by a company who have an excellent longevity in producing these items & I believe that if use of filter is justified then there is no better solution, bar reverse osmosis setup, which in my opinion is an overkill.

It is what it is.... A water filter for a hot tap.They don't work without one. Doulton are the best filters for a hot tap as they are high quality with many options for filtration and well priced. Would highly recommend.

Been using these filters for years and had difficulty finding them so kept getting them from the company who we bought the original tap and filter from . They were double the price compared to these and so when I did find them here I couldn’t have been more pleased are exactly the same as original one no problems with them at all will use again
