Enjoyable build, some mods needed
A very enjoyable model to build, I was inspired to buy and make it because my son in law has a camper and the grandkids love it.I made it for my grandson who is very good at looking after things and this is quite a fragile model when made. He also understands the difference between a toy and a model. The bus itself went together in stages very well. I used mostly revell acylic paints (airbrushed),which are very good, despite what another commentator has said about them. (everyone has their own favorites). As a few other people have pointed out the door hinges are very easy to snap. I used a small drill bit in a pinchuck and carefully drilled out the hinge pivot holes in the doors and the chassis. I then glued small lenghts of fuse wire into the doors and snapped them into place on the chassis at the last moment. A difficult procedure but one that worked.Assembling the body around the chassis is also hard, but with a lot of dry fitting and some filing I managed to achieve a good result.Another problem came with the decals, ok until the body trim which, once one part broke became useless, so I left it off altogether. You can use foil for this kind of thing if you chose. The clear parts required careful fitting also, with some abrasive work neccessay.Overall, a great model of a classic, I would recommend it only to reasonably skilled model makers, but could be fun for others if they have help they can call on.

REVELL SAMBA BUS
Good kit but now I know why it is a skill level 5 it can be hard to get the doors to line up and the hinges being to scale makes them easily damaged when trying to assemble this kit, what makes it harder is the body shell is not one piece but several parts so getting the fit and finish to line up is tricky, in the end I decided after breaking one of the hinges and the doors no lining up well to glue all doors shut and also means I could line them up why the glue dried, also don't understand why the handbreak ends up under the dashboard once assembled. but despite this a great kit to have from revell to convert to a 3 berth camper van which I did that was the easy part, mine now has a fridge, cooker, tv and a table, seat that folds down to make double bed and a single bed at the very rear, also i have converted it to right hand drive and in the end I'm am pleased with this kit but what would make it a lot easier if the shell was one piece I can't see me buying another one of this kit as i dont think i could build the next one much better although do keep in mind im still new to model kit making so a lot to learn my first kit being a revell routemaster bus that was a large kit. in the end i think my converted vw camper looks presentable on display as long as you don't look to closely please see customer images mine is the ones painted in vw orange....

Good kit that makes into an attractive model
A very good kit from Revell and nicely detailed. Relatively easy to build and well worth the money. Options are given with different bumpers etc. for American or European versions. However, no option for right hand drive.

Nice kit, but so many warped parts.
One body side panel, warped. But worst of all was the floor pan. Making it almost impossible to get anything to line up and fit properly.
