E1G42ET - DOA on one port
This is a very old, circa 2009, network card and whilst it is still very fit for purpose I'm not sure whether Intel are really manufacturing these anymore or whether this is a "copy" of the original. Either way this turned up with a dysfunctional port. Tried everything, changing the cable, loading drivers, wire shark, etc but it would not function. Returned for a refund and I will try an alternative supplier. For Β£37 this is not value for money.

Does not work on ESXi 7.0
3 stars because on ESXi 6.7 and below it works perfectly. However be warned VMWare removed support for this chipset in 7.0 and later and currently there is no way to add this back.

Died after just a year
This card worked really nicely until today, when it died a painful death. One year and 9 days after I bought it. A pretty short life... I can only guess this was a dud, or a bad quality product.
