IBAMA Ceramic Electric Kettle with detachable base and boil dry protection - 1.3L

This kettle has a really nice design and looks pretty and also makes a lot less noise than a metal one when boiling. Also it forms less residue than a metal one after some time, but this also might depend on the kind of water you have in you area. Also if you fill it up to the top then it fills about 3-5 medium sized cups, so its enough for a whole family if you want to make some drinks in one go. Im really happy with this product but theres only one problem. Its ceramic so you have to be careful with the lid, you have to turn it to open it and turn it back when you close it, otherwise it will fall out when you tilt the kettle over to pour.

In the product spec it does say 'designed for the old'. Anyone purchasing this kettle should be alert to the fact that this kettle (empty) is very heavy, surprisingly so - and therefore doubly heavy with water. Anyone of any age would be, on first lifting it up, be taken by surprise by the very weight of it and having been caught off-guard with the 'heavy lifting' (!) could find the kettle tipping out of control with boiling water. So without water, heavy and with water, very heavy and unwieldy. You can't use two hands - to keep it steady and the weight balanced - when the kettle is full of boiling water! The decoration around the side gives the impression of 'delicate'. A very attractive kettle and it does the job but the weight is worth noting. It is the 'build' of a proper old-fashioned ceramic tea-pot which is lovely but that does come with the weight issue.

I love this kettle. I have been using it now for about six weeks and it is the perfect size for a one or two person household. The ceramic looks beautiful. It boils fast and very quietly. The build quality is excellent and I would certainly recomend it. Some reviewers have said that it is a little heavy to lift with one hand but I am in my 60's and have no trouble lifting it even when it is full.

This is second of these I have purchased. Unfortunately I broke the lid on the first so was pleased when I saw this was again available. It looks so different from the norm, the only down side is that it is rather heavy but I will put up with that as the look and performance is worth it.

Like the look and sounds quieter than metal kettles. The switch light has failed after 2months and am having trouble contacting seller.

This is a pretty looking kettle, it's well made and it boils water as expected but it is VERY heavy and unwieldy to use. Definitely not for anyone with arthritic arms or wrists. I am fit and have good strength so at first it was a mild inconvenience but now I've had it a few weeks, it gets irritating so I will most likely buy a more practical kettle and keep this one for Chinese tea. I still love the look of it and it does somehow make the tea taste fresher.

I chose this kettle specifically as most kettles are unattractive and I wanted one that would look good in my kitchen, I have an old cottage so it needed to look right. This kettle arrived super quick and well packaged, the kettle itself is ceramic and has a lovely pattern on it. The kettle boils reLly quickly and is very quiet. Absolutely 10/10 delighted with this product and highly recommended!
