Excellent iron. Easy to use.
Easy to fill. Put together . I use spring still water in mine so helps keep the filter longer. Does get a bit of getting used to using though but you hardly need any pressure when ironing. Iron is quite heavy well for me due to Rhuematoid Arthritis in wrists. But it's manageable. Tank holds enough water to iron 4 wash loads probably couple more as I still had fair amount of water left, which I poured back into bottle. Pour into jug first makes it easier to pour back into bottle. The pump action doesn't take long to kick in but sometimes you'll need to prime again. If left for couple of mins. Works well for steaming anything you've got hung up as well . I'm very impressed over all. I'd recommend this iron to any of my friends and family. Reasonably priced as well. You do have to get used to holding steam button in but it's nicely situated so no problems. Stores easily. Cord storage as well. If you've a bug enough ironing board with large size plate for iron it fits on mine beautifully. And enough cord to plug into socket easily. Although my ironing board has a socket attached and lead to wall socket. So I've a choice. But if your ironing board iron plate is normal size I'd put the iron on work top by side of iron. As needs to sit firmly flat.

Surprisingly good.
Wanted a steam generator and after reading reviews from numerous places that all had different opinions, thought I’d opt for a reasonable priced one just to try as couldn’t justify spending over £200 on an iron. Then read reviews on this which I think is extremely cheap fir what it is and dies. Am very happy with this iron. It makes quick work of my cotton sheets, jeans and other items. For the money, it’s better than ordinary hand iron and a fraction of the price of other steam generators. No telling how long it’ll last tho, and I imagine if you have huge amounts to iron you may need something better, but if like me, just normal household that likes freshly laundered and ironed sheets, this is a great buy. I hardly ever write reviews, so this is praise indeed from me. Can’t believe the price.

Good iron for the price +3 year update
The speed in which the iron heats up from cold and is ready to produce steam on the lowest setting is around 30 seconds, after which it’s always available. There are three settings (see picture) which can produce steam, with the last two being for cotton and linen. I first started with the highest setting but quickly found this produced far too much steam for everyday cotton/linen. For me this setting seemed more suitable for thick and heavy materials like canvas. Taking the temperature dial down to the lowest steam setting (for wool/silk) turned out to be the only practical way of ironing cotton and linen with the correct amount of steam. With this aside, the iron itself is relatively light and well balanced. The sole plate is 9.5inches long and for me is an ideal size to get into all those little corners, yet big enough to quickly get the rest done. All in all it did a great job of removing all the creases. The removable water tank takes 1.5 litres which is more than enough for even a long ironing session. The removable filter isn’t very big, with the manual stating would only last a month if someone in a hard water area only used tap water. The iron does come with a 2year guarantee but this won’t cover any damage done by limescale. If you live in a hard water area then you’ll be wise to buy bottled water. Avoid all fragranced water (like Comfort Intense) as these are not suitable for this type of iron and can cause spitting. See below for an alternative source of useable water. Going by my last Swan iron (2400W) which had a bigger filter, I’d say the filter on this one would need replacing once a year as long as you use bottled water. Replacement filters are hard to source and will cost around £9. UPDATE +6 MONTHS: Iron is as good as new and I'm still using the original filter which came with it without any problems .There have been the occasional moments when the iron has spurted excess water more than the expected stream, but those are few and far. All in all I’m still happy with my purchase UPDATE +1.5 years How time flies! Well over a year after this was purchased, it’s still going strong without ANY problems. Most importantly, we are still using the original filter. Fabulous buy! UPDATE +3 years Had to clean the base plate of the iron for the first time, but it’s still going strong as the day it was bought. Although we live in a hard water area, we have only now looked to change the filter (see below) as we get the occasional spitting from the iron. ALTERNATIVE OPTION TO ORIGINAL FILTERS: Gave up trying to find a genuine filter cartridges for my Swan ProSteam, as they were either very expensive or out of stock. Opted to instead buy some refill bags for the Morphy Richards Jetstream Steam, which are a little bit bigger than the one I originally removed from dismantling my filter, but the replacement can be placed inside the original cartridge with a little effort. Although it was a tight fit to get the refill into the case it seems to work well even after a few months, all at a fraction of the cost. The item I ordered from Amazon was a refill for the Morphy Richards Jetstream Steam (pack of 5 for 5.99). ALTERNATIVE OPTION TO USING BOTTLED WATER: If you have access to the water gathered by a dehumidifier then using that is as good as buying bottled water. NICE FEATURES: • Quick to heat up • Good balance and not too heavy • Filter is easy to change • Good price • Can be used for vertical steam ironing NOT SO GOOD: • Thermostat light is difficult to see • No auto off switch • Max water line not easy to see • Replacement filters are hard to find

Extremely good value for money
The best steam generator iron I have had. It is so easy to use and it removes creases quickly and without using a lot of pressure. It is a lot lighter than I expected which meant I was able to do all my ironing in one go, instead of having to keep stopping to give my hands a rest.

Don't waste your money
Took me over an hour to iron a double duvet takes forever to generate steam each time, and as soon as you tilt the iron down the iron spits out water, it is very noisy constantly click click clicking, trying to generate the next cycle of steam, don't waste your money on this iron otherwise you will be ironing all day far to slow at generating steam and what steam it generates is not enough at the click of the switch. You cant use the Hermes return label Amazon creates you have to contact swan and get a label off them to use the collect plus service and when the label came it would not scan at the collect plus shop been a nightmare trying to return this item, for a refund.
