I recently tore some ligaments in my ankle and needed some pretty strong support while I rehab it. This product seems well made. it was comfortable, pretty easy to use, and exactly the right fit. I wear a size 5.5, ordered a small according to the chart. I think it would feel tight for someone who wears a solid 6. I got two different types of braces to see what I liked better and chose the other kind. I thought I'd choose this one, since it had the plastic plates on it, seemed like it would feel more supportive. It just didn't give me warm and fuzzies. I walk on the very outsides of my feet and rolled it to the outside. In this brace I felt my ankle wouldn't roll inward but didn't feel as secure on the outside of my ankle where I wanted the most support. It was also bulkier than the ASO Ankle Stabilizer I chose. I had a harder time trying to fit it in my shoes.

This brace is amazing. I can't believe the price is less than 40 dollars. I am a nurse and this thing is super supportive and good quality. I have worn it on many 12 hour shifts. I even wore it to a water park several times, and it stays on in the water, and going down waterside. I even walked around the water park without my shoes on for the lines, and I was shocked that I didn't have to get a new brace at the end of the day. I have 2 braces so I can wash one when the other is dirty. I wash it in a laundry bag, then hang it up to dry. I have had them 8 months and I am just now needing to replace 1 as it is starting to loose shape. The loss in shape has not effected its function, but I am paranoid, and cannot be without one if needed. I fully expected to have to replace this brace every other month as most braces don't, last that long with daily wear. It will put extra wear and tear on your shoes, but that is expected. If you only need this short term, then I recommend cheap shoes. You will need a sports shoe, and if the laces are short you will have to replace them. This brace also goes on super easy, you don't have to pull it over your sore or swollen ankle. It velcros open and closed, then you succure the support structure. Love, love love this brace.

I decided to give a try to this Ankle Brace after a recommendation from a known vendor, who indicated I would have good results with it. I have severe foot pain due to extensor tendonitis (pain at the top of the foot), and I had no idea how to treat it. It gets worse in the mornings when I wake up, so I often feel I won't be able to walk anymore. As it turns out, this ankle brace provided comfortable compression of the affected area, which reduced pain substantially when sleeping with the brace. Now, I sleep every night wearing it, and you only need to keep the calf area loosely secured so you don't have any issues. I keep the straps and top of the foot reasonably tight, and this proves to be comfortable at night. It works for me, so if you have extensor tendonitis, try this ankle as it may also work for you. This is one of the best products I have found in the market, even when it's more expensive. I'm happy I found this ankle strap, and I recommend it to extensor tendonitis sufferers.

Great fit and support. Straps take a second to figure out but aren't confusing. People who say that it hurts to put on missed the Velcro in the back. I'm a 7.5/8 women's shoe which the manufacturer says means I should size up to a large, but I wish I had gotten a medium. Not a huge deal, but I think would have given me a little more support and comfort. I really have to pull all the straps hard to get the right fit. Not a big enough problem to exchange for though. This is the best support I've gotten on my ankle without having to tape up every morning. Definitely recommend!

I had a common inversion sprain, foot and ankle hugely swollen and tender. This stirrup splint opened up and slid gently over the top of all that. Since then the swelling didn't disappear after a month (spoiler-- fractured fibula) and I went to an orthopedic surgeon, he gave my brace a big thumbs up. I plan to continue continue wearing it preventively inside high-tops for several months after my ankle seems normal.Update: End of life after 4 months of regular use-- ran it through the washing machine on gentle and it de-laminated, the velcro loop layer separated from the cushion layer.
