The detachable trays makes cleaning easy. The sandwich was toasted properly

Good toaster but
Good sandwich toaster but doesn't automatically switch off when lid is lifted. Must be switched off at the plug . Both my husband and daughter left it on . Daughter left it on overnight. So that was slightly worrying. Otherwise a good toaster makes lovely toasted sandwich

Brilliant value and great appliance
So easy to use and so easy to clean. I’m disabled and even I can manage it very easily. A few people said the clip breaks easily but if you don’t over fill and push down slowly, it clips very easily. This really does a great job of sandwiches. The plates are very non stick so food pops out without trouble. Even melted cheese just peels right off. If you want to use something to help get food out, bear in mind the non stick coating shouldn’t be scratched with metal utensils. Cleaning them is a breeze, just a wipe down with damp kitchen roll is all it takes. I wouldn’t advise putting it in a bowl or soaking. It doesn’t need it and it looks like it might rust. A damp tea towel, kitchen roll or sponge is all it needs.Great value for money. Definitely worth buying.

Game changer
I have been making cheese toasties in the air fryer for a while as i didn’t have one of these yet where i live. I purchased this one as it has the waffle plate too. Honestly it is the best thing ever. Cooks waffles great you just have to get used to how much mixture too put in. The toastie plates fit normal sized bread (standard warburtons).

Broke after a few uses
Unfortunately, this is cheaply made. The plastic foot at the back of the device cracked over a few uses and eventually broke away completely. My assumption is that this was due to the heating and cooling of the toaster, but if they'd chosen a better design in the first place with a more durable material it probably wouldn't have happened.Once the foot is broken it is no longer stable on the kitchen worktop and falls over when opened. This is particularly problematic when it is hot, and is quite dangerous. That foot also houses the incoming power supply cable meaning that the wiring is revealed once it falls away. Although I couldn't see any bare copper, it's still not particularly safe to have the wiring exposed like this.As for the taste, expect your first four or five toasties to taste like burning plastic. The device fills the room with an overpowering smell of plastic when used. Even when ensuring that the sandwiches aren't overfilled, some of the grease (likely from the butter on the outside of the toastie) runs under the plate and begins to form on the heating element and housing underneath. The plates are easy to remove and wash, but that housing is a pain to clean. Finally the heating of the plates is far from even, so you're likely to get the one corner of the sandwich overdone while the opposing corner is still just warm bread. You need to rotate the sandwich part-way through cooking in order to get a more evenly toasted toastie. This is difficult and dangerous with a broken foot.Amazon's support page for the product directed me to Russell Hobbs, who in return shirked all responsibility and passed me back to Amazon. Fortunately Amazon are now processing a refund for me. I'll never buy another Russell Hobbs product again. Avoid this toaster as it's simply unfit for purpose.

Great for waffles!
Had so much fun making fluffy waffles, better than the restaurant ones even if they are smaller! Hot waffles served any day of the week :) Takes between 5-10 mins to cook once hot. Removable plates make cleaning easy. The sandwich toastie plate is good used with a smaller load of bread, if using the average slice of wrapped bread you get quite a bit of overhang around the edge which makes it difficult to close. Worth the price as it comes with 3 sets of plates, much more than just a sandwich toaster.

It’s average
A bit on the small side of things, I used to have one a few years back and the toasties were bigger I’m sure. But like most things, sizes are becoming smaller while prices increase! It takes a while to heat up.The instructions tell you to use medium sliced bread, we usually buy thick and it still works, just need a bit more strength to squeeze it closed. The fillings still leak out all over the place, just like my previous did, or maybe it’s the thick bread! The top of the toastie, 9/10 times seems to get stuck to the lid, leaving no choice but to unstick it by poking it, usually my finger, to prevent scratching the non stick. That being said, the plates do scratch fairly easily.Good things are that, it produces yummy toasties, the plates are easy to put in/take out and they can be shoved in the dishwasher. Not used the waffle or panini plates yet. I do fully intend using the waffle plates though and expect there to be some degree of sticking issues as with the toastie plates. Not too much of a big deal really. As long as you’re not hung up on the presentation of your food lol!
