I was skeptical when I opened the package. Unlabeled box, no instructions. Lights are very thin, thinner than a strand of Christmas lights, and the panel is really small. But I set them out on my dock, and was pleasantly surprised.They’re facing east. It’s not all day sun, but they’re probably getting about 12 hours total, with about half of that direct sun. The panel is just stuck in between some rocks on my breakwater. The lights come on a little after dusk, but before full dark. They seem to work even if it’s been overcast or raining. They’re not quite as bright as some nearby solar post & deck lights, but they’re close, & the post & deck lights were much pricier. They’re certainly bright enough to see my dock at night. I’m not sure how long they stay on, but at least 6 hours. I like the color temperature. A little cooler than regular incandescent bulbs, but not so garish & cool as a fluorescent.I have no idea how durable they are, they’ve only been out a couple weeks. But given the price & how they work, I’d be well pleased if they lasted a season.I chose these specifically because they turn off (I want to keep looking at the stars!) & the on-off works fine. There’s a “mode” selector, but without instructions, I have no idea what the other modes do. I was just happy with whatever I got first, which is ever so slightly twinkly.I saw other reviews where the lights didn’t work all that well. Possibly being on the water reflects more light so they are more effective than in another setting. Or maybe I got lucky!I’m really happy with the lights so far, but I need them to get through the season. I don’t want to be out there stringing lights all the time! I wouldn’t be surprised either way, since one the one hand they do seem a little flimsy & mine are exposed to some dramatic weather, but on the other hand, they’ve been through a few storms already. *Usually* you get what you pay for ;) but if these last a few months, they’re an exceptional bargain & I’d buy them again next year.

The lights are what I was looking for, a single strand to run along the bottom of the pool fence. Installation was difficult because the lights are wound around a single spool. Attempting to unroll and use them was both frustrating and laborious. I needed my wife’s help. It would have been easier had the spool been able to pass through the fence slats, however as this wasn’t an option we needed to unroll all 146’ which kept causing it to tangle and kink due to the spiraling effect of being wrapped around the spool. Also, there’s nothing in the instructions explaining what the 8 light modes are or regarding the remote which doesn’t seem to work. Other than that, once installed, I found a steady light mode so they do what I wanted them to.

Depending on how you apply the lights, you can be in for a piece of cake, or real headache. If you need to uncoil the entire spool and weave the lights upwards or outwards, you are in for trouble. The end that plugs into the solar power is the part that is usually grounded and is on the outside of the spool when you open the box. Which means, if you need to weave the non-plugged-in end through trees, fencing or whatever, you will need to unspool the entire roll and the wire is so coiled that you'll get a lot of crimps in the protective plastic, which will weaken it, break immediately, and cause the wiring to be exposed to weather and fail.

Nice glow with soft white light. Adds a nice ambience on our deck. It has a dimmer and several modes. It can fade lights off and on, it can blink lights, etc. Easy to install, we used small clips that are used for securing "water dripper tubing" to surfaces. Works perfectly.

Works great looks great

This brand is great. I was able to rope each of the 2 strands around a tall vertical boxwood in my front yard yesterday. After only 1 cloudy day charge, each one stayed on all night! Super easy to install too but handle the charger/ stake appparatus gingerly. One of mine came unscrewed and I lost the spring between the bolt and nut but it went back together fine. I also bought a different brand's single strand and it was terrible - only an hour or 2 after full sunny day charges. Definitely buy this one.

The media could not be loaded.  I love these! I used a staple gun to attach them to the edges of our deck and they work great. It rained all day and we had no issues with that either.
