For the money?? Really can’t complain
Note: apologies for the quality of the photos it’s a bit awkward to get this sorted. For the nod nerds it’s a gen2+ tube salvaged from an ATN NVM-14, cloudy night w/ 0% ilum (new moon) Picked this up as a backup light to sit in my crye nightcap, it gives good illumination and can reach decent distances to help identify objects or animals/livestock. Easy to source batteries since it’s a basic AA, good build quality and compact enough to comfortably store inside the counterweight pouch of my crye nightcap. My only gripe is the lack of adjustment with the zoom. The light is already fairly zoomed in like a spotlight and provides little adjustment to that, I’m going to counter this via a DIY diffuser to use it as more of a floodlight for navigating, but like I said for the money paid it is a good deal and is a functional piece of kit, I would highly recommend this and will be doing so to mates who run similar setups

Poweful and cheap but not cheap quality
Bought two of these on the off chance they may be of use and having used a visible white light version of this flashlight and been impressed. The IR version works well, in fact very well, I have used it with both Gen 1 and Gen 3 night sights. The 3 LEDS give a decent amount of illumination, the zoom function also works well giving a concentrated beam out to about 250m, this is more than acceptable and this torch performs as well as some illuminators I have used at ten times the cost, for the price of this product you are not constantly worried about losing it or breaking it and its very economical to run, it is the only illuminator I have seen that does not run off the painfully expensive CR123 but just one AA! I haven't changed the battery yet! I have used this for observing into dark patches and also to illuminate animal eyes at night to assist in owl spotting and locating the dreaded farm yard rats, and yes it works well with the sights on my rifle. It does give out a gentle red glow from the LEDs which is unobtrusive and not ridiculously bright as I have seen on some budget IR torches. In summary a very robust, effective and sensibly priced product I would not hesitate to recommend.

Worse than a glow plug.
I bought this for my NVM GEN 1 in the hopes it could take over the IR duties to save the monocular unit's battery life however trying to use both is an exercise in futility as this torch is quite unwieldy to us with the device I bought it for. The build quality is shockingly poor as it feels like anything with have it fall apart at a moment's notice. No matter what AA battery is used the output of this torch is minimal at best. I can't even recommend this as a backup only tool as it is just not fit for purpose. Avoid.

Edited review.
I initially gave this 1 star for the poor range. I have since been and bought a proper night vision monocular and tried it out again (instead of with just usual digital recorder which pics up ir) and behold the range is a lot better and it illumines quite well. Only tried it up to 3 meter or so, I’ll be trying it outdoors and at a greater ranger later on but for now I’ll be increasing my rating from 1 to 4. Use this torch with the proper equipment meant for night vision and infrared and you’ll see how good this little torch actually is. It is well made and sturdy, feels well worth the money and it does work. I was too hasty in my first review thinking it didn’t work when I wasn’t using it with the right viewing equipment.

Ideal for AX53 night time photography
Using with Sony AX53 video camera in night mode. Produces a beam many times stronger than the cameras internal IR led. It's solidly made and good quality. Takes an AA battery. It's relatively small size enables it to be neatly attached to the camera hot shoe by using a small clamp that I 3d printed.

Takes 1xAA Battery and with (IR mode!) you can see around 10m+ with it.
This is a IR Torch Infrared Light with 850nm wavelength! If your using a normal camera thinking this will work to light anything up. It's not the IR Torch. This takes 1xAA battery that are around 1.2V if you think this is going to light up a whole football pitch or a city skyscraper. It's not the IR Torch. If you see violet or blue/white light and it's not very strong your camera is NOT night vision. You don't need to go back 20 years to get a night vision camera some panasonic and sony camcorders still have a IR mode. Your iphone does not have a IR mode! The photo for this does not do it justice the matt paint job is really smart looking. It gets warm fast i can see why they designed it with cooling fins. Works perfect for indoor use and is great for seeing what is in front of you at night or if you need to look in your bag etc. I would say you get around 10 useful Meters from the torch when you try to focus it just turns into a laser point dot (this is where their claim of 30 meters comes from). It takes 1AA batt this is the only IR torch i have found that takes normal batteries. I have another that uses them bigger batteries and one exploded. So AA is the way to go! Thing i don't like. The lens has a very big curve on it and sticks out so the plastic lens scratches easily. Maybe add a lens cap to the end. The belt clip is screwed into place the holes for the screws go all the way through the body. Am not sure if this has made it less splash proof. The screw on end cap is way to small and hard to put back on with no grip. I wish i could find a 2xAA battery IR torch just make this one longer and give it a better lens. It would be perfect.

Really powerful IR Illuminator for the price. Would work best in a handheld or helmet based set up. Almost too bright, and does end up autogating my Gen 3 Elbit WP tubes. Provides better IR Illuminator performance than most Full Power IR Laser/VCSEL set ups. I doubt it would handle long term shock from a Carbine, but definitely could be interesting to test out. Would also need to be installed really close to the muzzle, or else the end users will more than likely experience autogating. Extremely lightweight, takes AA batteries, and fits easily into a pocket. Perfect accessory or gift for the average NVG user.
