Great Product
Used this product previously and purchased again as it’s a great product.Fills areas and provides and excellent repair / filling holes. Always leave slight proud to sand flush. Sands really well.Need to work fast once mixed with the hardener and the hardener goes a long way. I prefer to mix small batches as feel working time is limited. I’ve had no cracking.Only con I would give is on some areas used I looked to stain, admittedly with water based stain and it didn’t stain as well with the wood. Might be down to water based stain used. But that aside it’s a fantastic product and highly recommend

Sets quickly to give a strong repair
This product works well, even for larger repair jobs on wood. I needed to repair my side gate which had a hole all the way through it, measuring approximately 30cm x 2cm. The filler was easy to mix and apply. I mixed up golf ball sized quantities and filled the hole up gradually after reading other reviews that said the substance set quite fast and this approach worked well. Within 20 minutes or so (on a dry day) the substance was completely hard and ready to sand down. I have just deducted one star for two reasons.1. When I tried to stain over the product, my Shed and Fence Preserver (which is a good quality brand) just kept running off and wouldn't adhere so I now have no hole in the gate but instead have an odd looking patch! My gate is rustic green so perhaps with hindsight I should I have chosen the dark coloured filler. So you may want to consider this before purchasing.2. Also, I have about half of the product left and have tried to reseal everything and make it air tight but it was so difficult getting the metal lid/insert off the top of the can when I initially opened it that it dented slightly when I prised it off with a screwdriver. I am therefore not sure if the remaining product will be usable next time I need it . . . time will tell.

The amount of hardener to use.
Have used this product before on wood and completely satisfied with the results, for those purchasing for the first time, here is a tip. Work out how much filler to use in order to plug any gap. From the hardner tube, put as little alongside the filler as possible prior to mixing as the more hardner you add the two when combined will harden rapidly and become useless for the job in hand. Admittedly, it takes time to work out the amount of hardner, but as the tin is big, the hardner has to go a long way so be prudent when applying. Worth while wearing protection on the hands too as overspills on the fingers is a devil to take off.

Great Product
Have used this filler for years. Down side is having to mix a small amount of hardener with it, but the results are good

Great product; much better than conventional wood filler
I used this to repair a hole in a hardwood door, which I was left with having scraped out as much of the rotten wood as I could, followed by treatment with Ronseal Wet Rot Wood Hardener. The hole was approximately 3x4 inches and 3/4 inch deep. First of all I hammered in a few galvanised nails to give some extra grip and then mixed up and applied the wood filler to the hole in one batch. The resin and catalyst mixed together easily and it was not too difficult to fill up the hole. However, it was a messy process and wearing rubber gloves turned out to be a wise move. After four hours it had set hard and I sanded it down with a power sander to give a perfect finish. The next day I put on a couple of coats of Ronseal Woodstain, but I will probably need a few more before this patch blends in with the rest of the mahogany stained door. A darker coloured product would have been better. The process was much easier than using a conventional wood filler as:1. I finished the job with one application2. It set quickly3. Sanding was very easy to give a good finish4. There is no sign of cracking or shrinkage. As a final note I managed to get the stuff all over the tin and lid, and so I have doubts on how well I've sealed it and the remaining filler will probably not last too long on storage. So, if like me you're a messy worker, I would advise you to buy only what you need.

Good, effective product.
Certainly works outside. Does dry very quickly so a bit difficult to get smooth. Does sand down OK. Easy to paint over.
