Singer 7470 Confidence Sewing Machine, White

Love my new sewing machine!! It's perfect for what I want and does exactly what it says. The instructions are really clear, so I just followed these and got to know the machine. I find it really easy to use, it's smooth and steady and I love all the many options of stitches and button holes. Definitely worth every penny even though I have only been using it a week. It feels a very sturdy machine so hopefully it will stay reliable and I will still be using it in years to come.

This is such a wonderful machine. I'm only just learning to sew and I was hesitant about spending this amount of money but I am glad I did. It is so versatile and gives learners to potential to grow. It's very quiet and sturdy. The manual was easy to follow and there are so many stitch choices to get really creative. It doesn't have a hard cover so I recommend buying a bag.

I brought this a few months ago as an upgrade from my very basic machine, I,ve only been sewing for a few months but got hooked and wanted something that could take me forward. All I can say is that this machine is brilliant, it has so many features , all very easy to use, I have shown it to experienced sewers and they all agree that it really is a "fantastic piece of kit" it has given me so much confidence, there are very few things that I won't try to make now as this machine is so nice and easy use Well worth the money and very highly recommended wether you are new to sewing or looking to upgrade.

Update to my previous review.... Though I have looked after this sewing machine with great care, I have never broken or damaged a needle... Never has the fabric jammed up and been pulled down into the drop in bobbin area.... I have not over worked this machine and it is still as good as the day I purchased it.... But that's where my problem really begins... A week ago I turned on the machine to carry on with the garment I'm making and the needle thread will NOT pick up the bobbin one, I tried all sorts of things to see what was causing it.... It was working fully when I turned it off the previous evening, I'd only Done that because it was getting late and I had to be up early for work....read everything in the handbook and turned to online for help / solutions.... Nothing.... Eventually I phoned a specialist machine service company to see if they can help and I could get it fixed!..... I was totally in shock to be told that the timing was probably out ( I'd already worked that out myself) but apparently it's a major fault with this model of machine and I could take it in to be looked at... It's £120 plus labour charge to do this... But they don't guarantee the work because it could easily slip back out of timing before I even get it back home.... Angry I looked up two more repair service companies, similar storyline but if it needed part's they could NOT get them... All three companies agreed to do the repair but not guarantee it.... Basically I was told that my lovely sewing machine is basically no good, even after the repair it would go out of time again.... Best advice was to buy a new machine because it'd save me time and money.....Decided to forget about the professional establishments and my very handy brother took it appart this afternoon, okay it wasn't the easiest of thing's to get the covers off but we did, after a couple of hour's it's all set back in time and put back together fully working, for how long I've no idea but at least we know how to do it again.... This is definitely Not a good sewing machine to own if it has something like that happen and cause such a serious problem.....Definitely would NOT recommend unless you have warranty and someone who's going to fix it.....Excellent machine and so easy to use , it's been almost 20 years since I bought a new sewing machine so I did a lot of reading Up before buying this one, so glad I did I'm loving playing with it's many features and it's a dream to use .Recommend

I decided to upgrade my 38 year old Jones sewing machine as I have just got back in to dressmaking as a hobby. I had a look at lots of different ones and decided to go with this for its features vs cost. I am not disappointed! It is really easy to use, the technology in 38 years is of course vastly improved, but it is relatively quiet, the stitch range is superb, easy to set up, and Oh My, how good is an automatic needle threader!!! For the money I'd give if 5 1/2 stars

I bought this for my Wife, who's 52 Year old Sewing Machine finally gave up. This machine is excellent and does about anything one requires. The Manual is fairly good but could be better as some of the pictures are a little small, especially for threading the Needle. The Packing of the machine by Singer was good but the cardboard at the bottom had been badly screwed up. The other Box it was put in was fine but some idiot had packed it, there was screwed up Brown Paper that was not stopping the Machine Box from moving about and did not give it ant cushioning.

Good machine but came with a European plug so had to go out and buy an adapter. Also came with manual written in Italian and German, but not English
