Not suitable for wall mounting as advertised
We needed a zapper to fit 3 metres high on our kitchen wall where , fortunately, there is a power source. This was the only zapper advertised as suitable for wall mounting and with a remote control. Unfortunately there are no instructions for wall mounting, nor are there any suitable holes in the casing for screws Drilling the casing would seem the only option, but the instructions warn against this. So I'm kinda stuck as the ceiling is sloped at the intended point of installation and unsuitable for hanging. Perhaps the product description should be modified.EDIT One year later: Finally mounted it free standing in the end high on kitchen units above cooker at the darkened end of the room Works brilliantly and fries every winged insect with great gusto. Twin bulbs only last a year but unit comes with two spares and a four pack is available on Amazon as cheap as chips . Very satisfied and have upgraded my report from three to five stars: Highly recommendedFurther edit a month after above: Unit has completely packed up almost exactly a year after purchase: Radio switch clicks but no light (Fuse in plug checked naturally) cant find manufacturer's guarantee details s looks like one year life

Worth a go.
A plague of flies this summer so bought this to keep in the kitchen. It certainly killed the flies that flew into the machine but I didn't think that enough were attracted to the light in a short enough time. However, if left on all night, it did kill a sufficient quantity to be worth 4 stars.

Living in electric dreams.
Every time one of those horse flies gets done, I like to sing "I'm gonna walk down to Electric Avenue" - Eddy Grant.Green flies and bluebottles get "Are friends electric" by Gary Numan.I always feel terrible about moths and butterflies though because they always get fried like Edward Delacroix from "The Green Mile".

Ineffective
It feels like quite a well constructed piece of kit. We have flies in our house and ran this device for 48 hours but it only caught 2 flies. It's also quite big and very bright especially at night which leads me to the conclusion that it is more a commercial unit than domestic. It also did not prove effective in our home so we have returned it.

Fatal Attraction
Satisfying to hear the odd bluebottle fry. Most effective at night when flies and other pesky insects have nothing but the bug zapper and it’s eerie blue lamp glow to attract them. Plenty of dead bodies in the out tray in the morning to prove it’s effective.

Put in a darker part of the kitchen. Catches flies well, even the really small ones. Good with wasps as well.
