Little Elephant Listens (Hello Genius)

This book is simply done- but my toddler responded to it

We bought this for our 2 1/2 yr old grandson. He loves it so much that his parents now have to include this in the reading cycle every single night and he Always tells them, 'one more time'. He says Gigi and Poppop in place of their names so this book is about us,which makes it even more special now. You cannot go wrong with this series, we've bought him so many that he almost has them all and each one has truly helped with the lesson it brings. A+++

My 2 and 1/2 year old son loves this series of books. I bought all of them because I think the concept is great: teaching kids the right thing to do. My son loves to colorful images and silly things that happen in them. They are short books and do not have too many words on the page, which makes them nice and quick for reading time. I tend to read 3-4 of these each night at bedtime.At this time I can;t say they are 100% effective at behavior changes, but having him listen to the story does allow him to hear what is "right." I assume that it will sink in eventually! I will come back, and edit, once I can determine if they make a difference in my child.

Hello Genius I recommend to all friends with toddlers. I don't know why but the colors and the simple story/behavior examples just really sink in. My three year old loves this book as much as his others. I'll say to him "you are not being the little elephant that listens" and he immediately takes offense and it helps to let him know its unacceptable behavior. Why these get such toddler attention I do not know but they are very helpful in behavior modification in the 4 and under set!

Bought this as I'd put um rules for my 2 year old and used an elephant to show "listening ears". It's cute and shows a lil elephant listening to Daddy, Bubby, and Momma. But it doesn't really explain how to listen. I just wish it was a lil more detailed about how to stop what you're doing, look at mom/Dad/bubby, and listen to what they're saying. It's more about following directions I guess as you can see above. After each person tells him it's time for something the next page shows him doing it.Would also be nice if it showed him having trouble listening and having to kinda reset to stop and listen. But it's a cute book. Just a lil too simple for what I wanted to teach my 2 year old.That being said, it did make for a great reminder "Please use you're lil elephant ears to listen to mama."

Nice board book. My son loves this series of books, even though he is 4 1/2 and generally into books aimed at his age range. I highly recommend these books because each topic is simplified and very straight forward, and the artwork is very cute. (Little Monkey Calms Down is one of his all time favorite books, fwiw)

My child absolutely loves these books. Cannot wait to order more by this author. Great material for children.

Lovely pictures, nice and bright , words where easy to follow so 7 Yr old could read and gain confidence

A short but very lovely book , for children teaching them how to listen to others, and teaching them manner for later in life .

I love all these books! The kids are always asking for each one, as they see the pictures of each book on the back. They ask me to read them again and again. The books are simple and strightforward, with some cute humour, they’re fun to read aloud to the kids. And they teach the kids great skills in a positive and gentle way. I’m very particular about books being respectful and non punitive, and these books really fit that perfectly.
