Just Fab! :)
Perfect book to talk about how we feel with my five and a half year old. He is going through an angry stage, so I thought this book would be ideal- I was right! It is perfect! Each double page, talks about a different feeling- sad, happy, angry, shy, embarrassed, quiet (there is a few more). Each page talks about why we may feel this way and has some solutions and what to do or try to make yourself feel better. There are some fab ideas- not just to deal with feelings, but good ideas for general activities. For example, one idea for when feeling angry (I think) was to go around the house and find the letters of the alphabet in order. Such a fab activity! Really really pleased with the book! Buy it!

Too long but useful
Got this book for my 3 year old son to help him learn emotion words. The book is nicely illustrated with a different emotion on each page with a description of the feeling and ways to manage the emotion. Unfortunately it takes too long to sit and read the full book with my son as it is very long and he gets bored after 10 minutes, however I have found it useful when he is angry or sad to find the appropriate page and go through the tips with my son (dance on the spot/ jump up and down/get a cuddle etc)

Has really helped
My daughter has been getting really emotional at school and was looking for books that would help this one came recommended by the teachers and we have just been choosing an emotion each night to talk about so she can manage being overwhelmed. It’s not a story book more of an instruction book.

A little complicated for younger children but a nice concept.
Not so good for younger children, perhaps 7 upwards ?

Helps kids decipher multiple emotions!
This book is fantastic! We use it with the kids to help them process when they're overwhelmed by multiple emotions (our kids are 6 and 8).We start with the emotions page, a double-page with 8 circles listing all feelings (happy, sad, angry, jealous, excited, 'quiet', embarrassed, bored) and ask one by one "are you feeling ...".When we've established what they're feeling there's the option to go to the page for an explanation of what it is and ideas of things to do. Initially, we would go to the pages after and read about the feeling. Now the kids can just talk it through. The genius of it is that it helps them separate feelings and process them separately. For example, our son was really quiet ahead of going to camp for a week, going through the book brought out that he's happy to be going but sad as he'll miss us, nervous as he didn't know what to expect, but excited to see what they'll do. He could talk about each feeling and understand that it's ok and how to deal with it. Before he would get overwraught and it would come out in some kind of less than ideal behaviour.

Not only for children
È interessante per l'educazione emotiva non solo dei bambini. Anche gli adulti devono imparare a gestire le loro emozioni
