Comprehensive and well-organized reference
This book is great at explaining the methodology of acupressure and our bodies’ meridians. The introduction and overview sections are written in a clear, concise and engaging style that explains how meridians work and the differences between how acupressure and acupuncture practitioners address the meridians and points.Particularly helpful are the large, easy to understand diagrams and the voluminous index with its exhaustive listing of health conditions and Chinese Medicine terminology.Interesting and informative for both practitioners and people like me who prefer to take responsibility for our own bodies and health.

A No-Nonsense Atlas of Acupressure Points
This book is 8 1/2 by 11 inches with large easy to see diagrams. After a five-page introduction about the various facets of acupressure, much of which was way above my level of understanding, the chapters go straight into the meridians. There is an extensive 15-page list of physical and emotional ailments in the Index. The diagrams of the meridians and their points, showing front/back and side views, and how they relate to the skeletal bones, make the acupressure points easy to locate. Each chapter addresses one meridian. After a summary of the meridian describing its key facets, the author goes straight into each acupressure point, listing all the ailments associated with that point. I soon realized this was becoming MY workbook. I started by going back and forth from the Index to the corresponding pages, but since I am focusing on about five ailments, I found it easier to just start with the first chapter and work my way through. I underlined my ailments and the corresponding points. Some points addressed three of my issues. If I found a point that was particularly tender, I would write “tender” right next to the point. Since I have no guidance as to how long to hold the pressure, I stop when I exhale in relief, and trust that something is opening up. I am amazed that I have so many tender points, as I am basically quite healthy. This to me is a wonderful game in finding out about my body. After a few weeks I am starting to see improvements in my issues. Some previously tender points are no longer tender. I treasure this book so much, I have begun calling it my bible. Just the facts. No nonsense.

Great illustrations
This is a great book to get you started. If you’re a practitioner it may not give enough depth of all the possibilities a pressure point can address. But it sure gives a lot and enough for most. Starting with this book would definitely help you immediately and once you grasp this you could go deeper though not by a whole lot this book covers a lot. I love that every point is illustrated and explained and you start to learn the whole body connection. We are truly made in an awe inspiring way! Enjoy this book it is worth the money.

Holistic healing using acupressure.
I don't like taking medicine when there's a more natural way to help me, and this is a great book to learn acupressure. I wanted something I could do in between my acupuncture appointments & this is really helping me.
