As my other half travels a lot this has made life easier, very roomy and lots of pockets

Good size, and shape. Very noisy wheels.
Seems shower resistant. Bit heavier than I expected. Handle is strong. Easy to go from carrying to rolling.Very, very noisy wheels though. Very.

Kitchen sink on wheels :-)
When travelling through airport security with a laptop the one thing you don't want is to have to unpack the lot in order to get the laptop out and on display. So I was looking for a backpack that offers the comfort of opening a zip and out the laptop comes while the rest is still securely stashed away. I also wanted something I can either roll or carry without having to rebuild in between. And as nice to have would be a few compartments to hold travel essentials like umbrella, passport, purse ...This backpack ticks all the (my) boxes. It is as easy and comfortable to roll as it is to carry. No rebuild required from carry to roll and back and it has enough compartments to hold all my essentials. The backpack comes with extra padded laptop bag and my laptop fits well in. There is plenty of space and handy storage compartments for all your bits and pieces when travelling. It fits in overhead lockers on an airplane but because I carry everything but the kitchen sink with me - it becomes to bulky and heavy to fit onto the overhead storage racks on a train - specially if you are not really tall enough to comfortably reach them anyway and the weight of the bag just makes you fall over :-). It has a net pocket / water bottle holder on the side which I use as umbrella storage.I haven't experienced the "noisy wheel issue" from a couple of other reviews. The noise level depends pretty much on the surface you are rolling it about ....The build of the bag is nice and solid, clean stitching. The telescopic arm has to levels, is easy to use and locks in place with release button for folding away.Cons from my side after 4 weeks of constant use - the velcro pads are of no use to me and the way I use my bag. But they are in places where when using the bag as backpack they rub against my skirt/trousers/jacket and catch and roughen the material, leaving unsightly and irreversible patches/marks. So I will try to remove the velcro patches from my bag.Other thing I've noticed is that one of the strap holder clips is not gripping as tight as the other and I end up having to adjust the strap frequently to not end up loop sided.Regardless of the cons, I would buy the backpack again.

BEWARE: Targus have replaced the original TSB700EU bag with an inferior new design - try to get the original if you still can.
NOTE: This is no longer the same bag that most of the reviewers here on Amazon have previously discussed. Around the beginning of July 2016, Targus UK issued a completely new bag but with the same TSB700EU model number, which got every retailer very confused! Amazon and another retailer sent me the newer model four times before we finally worked out what was going on and Amazon put a stop on further sales while they updated the product photos. I ended up having to get the original product on a trip to the USA where it was still available, and having now seen and tested both types I'm so glad I managed to get the original one! See photos attached for how the original bag looked, which I would unequivocally give five stars.Targus' customer support say it's just an 'update', but to be honest that is a bare-faced lie, it's a completely new design of wheeled laptop backpack. The main differences are the new one is a flatter design in a sleeker looking material, with the front pockets having less volume (especially the upper one, which is now just a lined slot rather than a full compartment). The other (more important) difference is that the laptop compartment on the new bag is vastly inferior. The old one had a large removable padded pouch right at the back, which completely enclosed and protected the laptop on all sides and even had its own carrying handles when removed. It completely protects even my fairly large 15.6" HP Envy laptop, which is 38.5cm along the longest edge. In contrast, the post-July2016 version has just a shallow slide-in slot for the laptop in the middle section. It leaves the top three inches or so of my laptop completely unpadded, and only partially protected by the thin material of the outer cover, and with no protection at all for the upper corners. If you can still find one of the original TSB700EU bags they are great. However while the new one may look more stylish and less fussy, is far inferior in terms of actual practical design. Working out which one you will get in advance is a lottery though, as Targus don't differentiate between the two very different products so don't just rely on the model number or the photos (I've attached photos of the original, superior, bag for reference).

It's not without flaws, but it does the job and for less than £30 it's good value
I have a prolapsed disc in my back and I've had surgery on both shoulders - and I cart around a laptop and a load of papers on a daily basis. So I wanted to find a wheeled briefcase to take the strain. Most of the bags I found were clearly designed to be overnight bags and although I'm sure they'd work just as well, my preference was for a bag that was more a 'mobile office', with a padded laptop compartment and a big space for folders, documents etc. On this score the Targus doesn't disappoint. There's a main compartment with a padded laptop section that's huge. Behind that is another smaller compartment that the collapsable handle intrudes into. Despite this, there's still a lot of space, and I use it to carry a bottle of water, a folding umbrella, a folding raincoat, and tissues. And there's still a lot of room. And at the front of the bag is a zipped compartment for stationery, cables, etc. So why 3 stars? Well it's not waterproof (or not fully waterproof) - first time it rained everything in the stationery compartment got soaked. And the plastic feet at the front of the bag broke off within a week of getting the bag (I fixed it with a nut and bolt). And the wheels are really squeaky (really squeaky). But for less than £30 it's an inexpensive way to take the strain off your back (and shoulders) - and a can of spray waterproofing isn't too expensive!
