Good Fun
We played this game with a family members from grandparents to young teenagers. Everyone had a good time and the game flow was easy and fun. I very much liked the concept that the "murderer" was determined by draw just before the party. We did not have to worry about an invited guest not showing up for the party. The only reason I did not give it all 5 stars, I think most of the participants will need to have experience with this type of game. I question if a group without any experience with Murder games would find it easy to just start playing. I could be wrong, but that is my opinion.

Good for laughs but not for mystery
I really liked the characters in this, we had so much fun with our costumes! The actual mystery bit was a bit crap though. The way this is structured is clever in one way because you can choose the murderer on the night (secretly) so it doesn't matter if someone cancels on you last minute (which someone did) but it's bad because the mystery isn't very in-depth.The game works in three rounds with an introduction at the start of each round, then each character answers a few pre-determined questions. If you are innocent you read the 'innocent' answers and if you are the murderer you read the 'guilty' answers (two sets per character booklet). This is okay but after we'd finished when we looked back at the guilty person's booklet and compared the guilty and innocent sections we didn't really see much difference between the two. Because the murderer could be anyone at the event it's all quite vague. You are just literally reading answers to two questions per round and that's it. That being said, a few people worked out who the murderer was but that could have been guesswork rather than deduction. We previously bought one of the Paul Lamond murder mystery games and that was a lot better mystery-wise. That had different rounds with different pieces of evidence being revealed as the night went on and the murderer didn't know it was them until near the end of the mystery so they still had a chance to work it out for around 2/3 of the evening before finding out. With that though it took a lot more planning and it was much more formal. It depends what you want out of the night. It was fun to see everyone dressed up and once we'd had a few drinks we didn't care too much who the killer was anyway but if you're a purist and really looking to work your detective skills then I'd say maybe look elsewhere.

Overall a great idea but let down in the actual playing of the game
Looked great in the game description but during the set-up it became fairly obvious that there was little substance to the actual game itself. We have enjoyed playing many other games with the guests we invited but within a few minutes other than some hilarity on choosing the various characters md sending out e-mail inviatations that there was no real structure to deciding on who was the murderer which left everybody a it bored and deflated. It is just a case of listening to three Acts, reading out set commentaries and then only th murderer reads out a slightly different ending and you have to guess from that who is the murderer. The makers need to go back to the drawing board to work on this to make it more playable and enjoyable. It could be great but needs work...!
