These work so much better than silica. I like the bag they're in too. It's thin but sturdy and super flexible so you can get all the air out before closing. My only wish is that they came in smaller sizes. They're kinda big.

They seem fine but they are decidedly NOT mil spec. Part of the spec is reactivation but these cannot be reactivated. I reached out and asked the manufacturer to confirm this. Disappointed as part of the reason I bought these was due to the reactivation requirement of the spec...

I purchased these to help keep a small storage area under our stairs dry. The front of the wall is under a set of concrete stairs and despite using a variety of mitigation strategies, including placing other types of desiccants in the area, it still tend to become damp during the winter rains. The storage area is too large to expect that one set of these desiccants by themselves would be effective. However, these desiccants help. They are effective in lowering humidity. I particularly appreciate that this product is uses almost 100% natural materials: bentonite clay and plain brown kraft paper. It’s non-toxic, recyclable, and biodegradable. (The print ink is the only material used that may not be 100% natural.) The seller states that they are good for preventing moisture “from guns, important papers, legal papers, collectibles, books, jewelry, photo album, shoes, camera lens, toys, leather clothing, ammo, photo equipment, machine parts, document etc.”. I think this set of desiccants would be particularly effective in smaller areas, i.e., gun safe, camera case or pack, jewelry box, container with photo albums, document safe, etc. Recommended!
