Bought this to replace my Biddeford electric throw which quit working after three months (seriously, what’s with these electric blankets?) This one is not nearly as soft and is barely warm when set on “five”. It only seems to get warm in certain spots too. Disappointed. Guess I’ll have to wait until next winter when Target has the Biddefords on sale again (definitely not paying full price on anything that craps out after a few months, but it was a sweet blanket while it lasted).

The other reviews are absolutely on the mark when complaining about the lack of heat this blanket generates; it's really a joke, almost not worth the bother of the cord in the way. There's always an extra step when turning it on, because it initially starts on setting #1, and setting #1 doesn't produce any heat discernable by modern scientific measuring equipment, beyond the LED’s blue glow on the controller, so really, turning on the blanket always involves hitting the button on the controller four more times to get to the "highest" setting to really get it “on”. It's probably not Serta's fault (beyond advertising it as a real electric blanket); I imagine a bunch of lawyers and/or politicians have been successful in destroying the idea of an electric blanket, as they've previous done for gas cans, in-car GPSs, seatbelt warming indicators, and so much more (even trying to destroy the idea of hot coffee), though would have been nice if it remembered the last setting (but I’m sure the lawyers had something to say about that too). This is not your momma's electric blanket, it's not the one you remember from your youth. But, it can be a nice blanket with your expectations in line. The blanket itself is comfortable, love the fake white fur, and the right size for throwing over the lower 2/3rds of your body while chilling on the couch. And once fully warm on its highest setting, could probably be compared to the warmth of recently taking it out of the dryer, which does feel very nice. It's just that you'd expect that temperature from the first or second setting, third at worst. If there's a slight chill in the air, this blanket on high can serve you right, but it's truly cold, this electric blanket isn't going to remedy that, much more than a regular non-heating blanket. I don't know where to get a real working electric blanket anymore, though; I see similar complaints in the reviews of other blankets. I'm sure they're out there; just like exempt racing gasoline cans (meant to fill up race cars, are exempt from the stupid rules which intentionally slows the gas, causing it to burp and spill, because they actually have to work).

This is a very soft blanket but i bought it for my diabetic mother who needs heat. This blanket never made it past barely warm. So according to the instructions it was heating like it was suppose to. They should have labeled it "Serta barely heated electric throw", and put a warning on it, not for people who need heat.". I gave it 1 Star for softness.

I have never been so disappointed in a product. I called them and told them the blanket did not heat up at all. They sent me another controller to see if it would work. It did not. I brought my daughter a Sunbeam electric throw blanket and it worked and just took seconds to heat up. I would not recommend this for anyone. Waste of money and money. I was diagnosed with a heart condition and I stay cold. I going to order a Sunbeam next week.

The color matches what I purchased. But the controller is different and only has 4 settings. Only works on medium. High doesn’t work. Warm and low barely anything. Going to give it a couple days before returning.

Love this blanket! Keeps me warm and toasty on the couch or bed. I generally use it on 2 or 3 and that's plenty warm.Update 10/31/18: About a week ago, like half of the blanket stopped heating. Even on 5, the max setting, it doesn't get warm like it used too. Disappointed for the price I paid.

Let’s face it, it’s really for the dogs, but I’m always cold so it works for all of us! This is probably my 4th one to buy because to give them to other small dog owners as gifts

Decent blanket, nice and soft. But the cord is attached in the worst spot ever right by your face unless you want to put it on upside down. The cord itself is in two pieces. It attaches up by. Your face, goes for about 3 feet and then has a joint where the controls are. The button for the control also sticks constantly; when you push the heat strength button, it gets stuck so the temp just keeps changing.I would never buy another blanket like this.Sure it heats nicely and is soft to the touch, but super inconvenient when it comes to the controller.

Would not recomend. Not very warm. Bought another brand for same price and was much hotter.

This product, with a one year warranty, stopped working after about six months of light use. I have been unable to contact Serta, PerfectFit or Amazon to obtain any satisfaction re getting this product replaced.

This is now the 2nd one we've bought ,1st was Beige 2nd is Chocolate, it's beautiful soft and gets VERY WARM !!! Not sure what everyone else is doing why they are saying it's not very warm unless they want it to be like 95 degrees to burn I donno , but we are very satisfied with this product !!! Fair price and works very well our first one is over a year old and still going strong we bought another one cause my kids fight over the one so anyone wants to know if this is a good product it is and I'm very picky !!! P.s we bought a 2nd one from the same brand cause I can trust it ! I do recommend this blanket 100% and so dose my family . Thank you for who ever made this beautiful well made blanket !

This is a counterfeit blanket. It is NOT from serta is from a company called Perfect fit which went bankrupt in June. You would think buying from a reputable company like Serta you would not be dubbed into getting counterfeit items. Also be warned that many people have complained of this product being faulty and the plug melting and burning them. I got amazing customer service from Amazon when I called and complained. I ended up getting a replacement blanket which was still another counterfeit so I ended up returning for my refund but never again.
