The reviews for this one were overall good so I sprang for one
This is the 2nd brand of stainless steel metal hoses I have purchased this spring. The reviews for this one were overall good so I sprang for one. However, after only a month of use the stainless steel wrapping stretched (in one small section not near either end of the hose) which allowed the clear plastic center to bulge through the metal and burst making the hose unusable. I returned the item through Amazon and received a full refund (thank you Amazon). For the expense one pays for a hose like this the performance should be commensurate which this hose is certainly not. The concept behind these stainless steel hoses sounds really good but the manufacturers have not perfected the product to the point they are usable for a season and certainly should last longer than a month. I cannot recommend this product.

Compact, light, flexable, well made.
I bought this for our side yard where there is full sun much of the time which eats up hoses every couple of years. I'm hoping this metal hose will last much longer. It is for sure a lower flow rate hose than a normal 5/8" hose but it's enough for me. I use a hose reel box and this 100' hose is SO easy to manage compared to the old rubber hose, it's almost slippery. Last point, there are many brands of these metal hoses, I prefer this brand because the hose end material is a hard plastic that should tolerate the sun much better. Other brands have a soft vinyl end cover, this will weather poorly in the sun so do pay attention!

Not the worst hose I have ever bought but close.
Bought this to replace an older heavier vinyl hose that had kinked in a couple of places, supposed to be kink resistant, and was a major pain to take out of my hose reel and then to wind it back in. When I installed it on the hose reel it went in so easily and it is light as well I thought man this is going to be great. Unfortunately it was the dead of winter and I never got the opportunity to use it until last week when I washed my truck. Now I will give it this. It is light easy to move around and doesn't kink. However the inside diameter is so small that the water pressure at the nozzle is almost non existent. it took me forever to rinse off the soap suds. I got so frustrated that I purchased a new vinyl hose to replace it. Now I am stuck with this one. Maybe okay in the back for watering but absolutely not for washing cars and I doubt that it would even work with a pressure washer. Oh and the fittings at both ends leak and are plastic.

Hmmmmm
After all the bad luck I had with rupturing expandable hoses I figured I'd give this metal one a try. Well, no leaks on the first day but the diameter is too small to move any kink of water. I prefer the 5/8 or 3/4 hose but this is 1/2 and even further restricted at points. If you put a "real" nozzle on here it is not that great. If you use the one they give you it is ok, but it is a very narrow stream. I gave it 3 stars because I have not used it enough. I am in the "we'll see" camp at the moment. I will update this a few weeks.

Awesome Hose - if you change out the nozzle.
This hose works great! Light weight but still powerful enough to wash our siding with a bottle of house cleaner attached to the hose. Our driveway is pretty far from the house and this makes it much faster and easier when I wash the car. We're seniors and lighter means easier in just about everything.I see on the newer models they've changed out the sprayer -- good move. The original one that comes with this one is awful. We changed it out after the first few uses. I would pay the few bucks more to get the upgraded one with the improved sprayer. Other than that it works great for everything we use it for.

Great hose at a great price
This hose seems to be holding up well outside in the weather (in deep south GA) We don't have the freezing temps but we do have the very hot weather. The hose can be pretty hot to handle in the full sun, but it loses the temp quickly when in use. It holds up well with dragging and pulling through the yard. Replace ment fitting could be an issue if they ever break, but shouldn't be too hard to replace. This is a small diameter hose 3/8" at best, so flowing large GPM is not going to work, but for around the home use it should be fine.

Durable, but volume it delivers is low.
Good product, ID is small and reduces volume, but I didn't need volume, just durability. And durable it is. It's also very flexible, which is an added nice feature. We winter in AZ and I needed something that I could run over the roof to keep the orange trees watered. This is the first season I'm using it so only time will tell about durability, but the stainless cover should work out just fine.Follow up:So after 5 months using it one a week to water trees it leaks in numerous places. Hard to tell where because of SS jacket.

Mostly an Ok hose until it leaked after 2 years of use
Pros: lightweight when no water is flowing, mostly easy to maneuver, pressure was fine even with 100 ft but I changed the nozzle.Cons: hard to maneuver when it is not perfectly wound up, otherwise the weight of the hose with water flowing requires tugging at the hose to get loose the part at the bottoms of the “pile;” lasted 2 years until a leak sprung up (we tried duct tape, but the leak is interior and we can’t get at it). That adds up to $50 a year based on the total price I paid for the 100-foot hose.
