OTOOLWORLD Gold Silver Graphite Ingot Mold Mould Crucible for Melting Casting Refining (2kg)

Works very well.
This is very simple and works great. I've poured aluminum and brass into it and both metals dropped right out after cooling. Even though there's no draft on the sides (walls are vertical), the metal shrinks as it cools after solidifying pulling away from the walls. The graphite it's made of has good thermal conductivity so it pulls heat quickly from the freshly poured metal (good for reducing corrosion / keeping shine), but heating itself VERY hot in the process. Don't be too quick to touch it without gloves! The graphite is perfectly happy being hot and cold and changing temperature quickly. The cast size is nice for remelting in my 3Kg crucible (and probably smaller sizes too).

Very nice molds!
These ingot molds looked very clean and packaged well. And shipped in a pretty reasonable amount of time. (4 days) I have used the quite a bit casting out lead bars. For being graphite they are surprisingly durable. And make a nice ingot. They make around a 2 1/2lb ingot.Definitely going to try to buy more

Needs draft in the side walls
Works okay, but the walls are perfectly vertical (no draft or angle to help with release) so sometimes the bar gets stuck in the mold as it cools. Some obvious machining lines in the final castings. Not terrible, not great.

Quality graphite but bars stick inside the mold
Bars have to be pried out after cooling unlike the 1250 gram mold in which the bar slides right out no matter the metal temp

The Item is not the size advertised in the description.
It actually measures : Outside, 6.25 X 2.00 X 1.50 tall. Inside, 5.50 X 1.35 X 1.20 deep. Dimensions are in inches and are + or - 1/32 . I am not sure what weight it will hold, but that will depend on the material, i.e. Lead is way heavier than Aluminum. It appears to be a nice well made dense machined graphite mold, except it has no draft. It may not release properly. It has thick enough walls I could add a couple degrees of draft if it survives my first pour.

Awesome product
Works great for molten metal. I’ve used it for both copper and brass.
