Disappointing Shimmer
For me, this ink is practically plain black. I thoroughly shook the bottle before filling my converter. I wrote several lines of words and waited for the ink to dry. I was quite underwhelmed.I know some folks think this is appropriately subtle, but I had to shine a light directly on it to see any bit of shine. The ink itself flows well and otherwise seems good quality, so it's unfortunate this wasn't effective. Now I have extra expensive black ink.

Underwhelming sparkle, FOR ME. I love these inks for the shimmer.
I have five or six other diamine shimmering inks. I particularly like the brightly colored ones because they have a lot more dimension in terms of the pigment transparency and glimmer combination during a pen stroke and how they vary. This one is truly essentially a black ink with some silver. It's the same quality of other diamine inks, which in my opinion is some of the best ink that I've tried so far of its kind. I'm also a huge fan of Iroshizuku colors and flow. But, when it comes down to it, I do like a bit of color, and this is not flashy enough to make it stand out from my other "black "inks. I also have J. herbin storm gray and find that this is slightly blacker but otherwise similarly a little too subtle for my particular taste. If you were looking for a dark ink with a neutral tone, and very little shimmer, but just a hint, then this is probably the ink for you, it is more shimmery than the J. herbin Storm Grey 1670.

Beautiful Ink. Tricky but possible to control shimmer level.
I love this ink, and all of Diamine's Shimmer Inks. The glitter will settle after a while, obviously, and that can drastically the level of shimmer. It can be anywhere from an incredibly faint and light dependent sparkle to an obnoxious silver shmear. So it's often hard to just pick it up and have the exact level of shimmer you want, but with preparation, you can produce your intended level. Not a complaint, just a reality of physics I've seen a few people complaining about. If it's hard to see the shimmer, let the silver settle with the nib facing down and work the ink through the feed on scratch paper. This generally applies to all shimmer inks.Currently have it in my fine point TWSBI ECO, and it has become my favorite general writing ink.

Pen type affects shimmer
Shimmer effect is BEAUTIFUL. I used a fine nib, internal-inkwell fountain pen vs. a wide nib or dip pen style they recommended, so the shimmer was uneven. Never clogged my nib, but drying may have altered the evenness of the shimmer flow; inverting the pen a few times before writing seemed to help. I went through half a bottle just scribbling and doodling. Well worth it.

This shimmer is subtle and can be seen in dim lighting. I can see some shimmer in the bottle but even with a sub nib, on rhodia paper, there's very little shimmer. The review image entitled "this is it" should be counting her shimmering stars. That looks like a lot of sparkle compared to how mine looks.

Beautiful, Subtle, Elegant
This has become my daily writing ink for just about everything. It’s black so i can use it almost anywhere and the sparkle is so subtle it’s gorgeous. An extra fine point or even fine, fine/medium would be excellent and even broader lines will really REALLY show off the sparkle even more.

Great ink, just smears if your hand is wet
Once you get a hang of shaking the pen before use it writes well. It will not sparkle until it dries and the ink sets in the paper. It does smear easily if gotten wet but has a fantastic appearance that is hard to photograph. Folks will notice the unique ink!

I got a bad bottle.
I got a bad bottle. It must have been old. The shimmer was in clumps and it looked like there was mold. Bummer! I have several other bottles of diamine shimmertastics and they are all wonderful beautiful inks.
