I brought my car into the mechanic for servicing and he mentioned to me that the hood struts no longer hold up the hood when it is lifted. Sure enough, it stayed up for about five minutes and then started to shut.I found these struts on Amazon here, and after reading the reviews, I ordered a set. Compared to the OEM units from Lexus, these were a bargain. Despite an estimated delivery date about 10 days out, I was surprised to receive them in half that time.The struts were individually wrapped in a sealed plastic bag, and protected by a bubble wrap. Installation was very easy. Prior to the install, I watched several online videos and it seemed like an easy job. I did note that there were several videos online that didn't do the removal correctly. Some of them just used a large flat head screwdriver and pried them loose from the ball socket. I found a video (including one here on Amazon) that showed you are supposed to use a small flathead screwdriver to pry the clip on the strut loose first. Once you do that, you can use hand force to remove the strut from the ball socket. To install, you simply just push the end of the strut into the ball socket by hand (no need to loosen the clip first).One thing I did do was to add in slightly more multipurpose grease into the strut socket. Although it came with some grease, it was a very small dab, and so i added just a slightly larger dab. Fortunately, I had some grease lying around the garage. If you don't have it, that's ok. The grease in the socket should be sufficient.The strut fit perfectly (I did check before install to make sure it was the same length as the original one to be replaced). The hood stayed up as it should, and it took a nice firm push to lower the hood and close it.Overall, a very nice product. I will update over time to see how it holds up.

Very nice, and easy to install….and I’m saying that because my mechanic did it! I don’t have time for any type of manual labor, when I could be conditioning my hair or loving on my dogs, hamsters or child, so I know it was easy for HIM….because he did getter dine! LOL! They look good and work, and that’s all I care about. I’m about to go do a facial scrub…so this review is done!

Exact fit for 06’ GS300 Lexus. Holds the hood up perfectly nomore hood slamming down on my head haha or using a home made hood stick.Long overdue and price reasonable. Part was super easy to install, take a flat head use leverage or a set of pliers around the old part and leverage it to pop out. Clean off the ball joint (part of the car) with some stainless steel mesh before popping the new struts on!

2 mins to replace, easy day.

These hood struts fit perfect on my Lexus GS350. I was concerned about being able to install them myself but after watching a YouTube video on installation, they are surprisingly simple to install. You just pop out the old ones and push in the new ones. All you need is a flat head screwdriver to pop out the old clamps. The dealer wanted over $150 to repair. I did it in 5 minutes for $25. I highly recommended buying these replacement struts.

I highly recommend these hood struts for anyone with a Lexus GS 460 or any other Vehicles. My original struts had worn out and were very weak, but these replacements exceeded my expectations. They are extremely powerful when opening the hood; it lifts smoothly and effortlessly, showing the strength and durability of the product. Installation was quick and easy, taking no more than five minutes. This is a great alternative to paying dealership prices. Overall, a solid investment for both performance and value.

Watched a Youtube vid where on the old one you just use a small flathead to pop the clip off from the top and the bottom to remove it. Then, you just snap on the new one and it's done. Both literally took me 10 mins

They work. It fit my GS450H as it said in the description and raises the hood unlike my failed factory struts.
