BOYO VTL17IRTJ - Concealed License Plate Backup Camera with Night Vision and Active Parking Lines (Black)

This camera has an absolutely phenomenal picture in daytime or at night. I was honestly surprised at the quality of the image displayed on my head unit. I have tried multiple different brands of cameras and this one's definitely stands apart from the rest.

Ok, install was as easy as the installer makes of it, you want clean its not fast, I wired it in to be as close to wireless looking as I can so it took a couple hrs and I waterproofed the connections. Camera quality is ok... very clean application and worked well on a truck platform. 2006 f250 supercrew 4x4 w touch screen in dash. Kind of wished I opted for tailgate handle version after having put this one in, but I remove my tailgate periodically so here I am. The picture quality is fair enough to see what im doing behind me so fulfills the function. Camera is small for sure and seems fairly heavy duty, didnt fog or distort in rain either but dust is a constant. Perhaps i try dry silicon on the lens???

I was originally planning on buying the licence plate style from Boyo which although was rated well, was significantly more expensive but didn't have parking guidelines which I didn't like. When i found this camera, i couldnt believe the price and the features so took the plunge and installed it a few days ago! The camera is clear at daytime and nightime, is quite discrete on my 2006 jetta and does an excellent job overall! I have a pioneer metra axxess 9003 nav harness which has a reverse signal and talks directly to my Pioneer AVH5800 headunit, so no need to hook the camera up to any reverse light bulbs, but i did want to run continuous power to the camera from the head unit so had to buy 15 feet of wire to extend it as the wire they provide is only a few feet.This camera has a two piece harness, first wire from the camera with a fairly thin connection (4 mm wide roughly) which i routed from the trunk lid into the trunk itself - i was able to drill a hole in a spare licence plate threat and feed the wire through, perfect fit! However. the wire from the camera was barely long enough to route into the trunk from the trunk lid which was a pain in the butt, an extra foot would have been helpful to avoid stretched cabling, and i didn't want to cut that wire as it carries signal and power! The second piece of wiring has a large female plug on one end and the RCA cable on the after (with about 20 feet of cable). When you plan the routing of the cabling think about this upfront as the second wiring piece has thicker components up to about 1 cm. Some cameras have a three piece harness which make life easier as the main piece of wire is thin so easier to route and the 1st and 3rd cable can be connected to the head unit and the camera so no big deal. Overall a great buy for the price, highly recommend! I live in vancouver where it rains a lot, so time will tell about the weatherproofing.

This is a very good little camera. I got the one with the parking assist lines and after some getting used to its been very helpful. It's not the absolute best quality sensor no so don't expect to be taking selfies with it but it does the job it's intended to do. The picture at night is good as well. It's a little harder to see since I didn't get the version with the white backup lights but the cars tail lights and reverse lights provide more than enough light to see where you are going. The parking lines are responsive once the car actually starts to turn. I sort of expected them to move when I moved the steering wheel but it doesn't work like that.

The image quality isn't the greatest, but when you're backing up you don't need to see every minute detail such as a small pebble, just need to see the big objects such as people, cars, trees, houses, and whatever else. This will do that! However, as others have mentioned it will not do it for long. Mine lasted about 4 months before it died. No idea how to contact their support to get a warranty replacement. All connections have been verified, the camera is simply dead.It's cheap and easy to install and it will assist in backing up and avoiding hitting things. Just don't expect it to last forever.

Good backup camera and easy to install. Park assist guide very helpful during parallel parking and backing up.Display slightly bright. Video wiring harness came up a bit short. Had to use a coupler and purchased another video cable to reach display. Over a good camera for the price.

Wow, love the camera. Easy to install and quality is ok. I am not expecting 4K but it does what it suppose to do. Two thumbs up. Not bat at all.

Cheap, easy to install if you're into that sort of thing, works good.
