Finally an inexpensive way to connect a REAL keyboard to my Android phone / tablet.
I like computer keyboards. Real computer keyboards, with their erngonomic design and their easy-on-the-wrists springy keys. I hate doing extensive typing (i.e. more than five characters) because banging your fingers on Gorilla Glass 37 transmits all that force right down the old phalanges and smack-dab into the carpals... ouch. Sadly, however, more and more devices and services offer no avenue to use a "real computer" with a real keyboard, so I'm often stuck having to punch in accounts, passwords, credit cards and so on with a touch screen. If only I could connect a keyboard to my cell phone...... and apparently here's the quirky, clunky answer. This little USB hub has the normal full-size A-type USB connector on the cable coming out of the hub, but a closer look shows that the A-type connector opens up to become a USB micro connector like the one on most Android phones. Plug the micro USB into your phone, and at that point some blue lights will shine on the hub, and from there all you need do is to plug in a USB keyboard and all of a sudden you won't want to drive down to your bank and kill someone because their app makes you punch in your "secret answers" every other time you log in.And in case you're wondering, yes -- that means your phone's not charging and that the hub is draining your cell's power. If they'd figured that out, I'd have given them all five stars.
