Put these to use the day they arrived and had no issues with them. They hold their position as good as any i have used, so yeah 5 stars that i COULD draw with these fine instruments and here we are.

I use these to sketch. When I have the subject in front of me and my paper isn't quite a 1:1 ratio to the subject, having the individual compass sized to subject and paper is quite helpful for getting the initial proportions correct. Their lightweight is also an advantage to keep in one's minimal sketch kit. Highly recommend.

I don't have much to say about this pair of compass/dividers except that they should be quite usable for classes in mechanical drawing and drafting and possibly light professional drafting. I checked them out, and they seem fairly durable. They are made from stamped steel with a glossy painted finish; so they should hold up under normal use and resist rust and deterioration from handling. These aren't expensive, but they are metal and have a threaded adjustment knob. This means that if I set the radius to be drawn at a certain length, it should stay that way until I change it. Cheaper plastic compasses often just depend on a friction joint at the pivot and are difficult to keep from inadvertent spreading as they are used. The kit I received had extra points, leads and clamp screws. Recommended.

Good quality.... these lasted way longer than the plastic ones in a special ed classroom.
