Reduced Engine Power (P1516) Gone
Usually in cold weather conditions my 2003 Yukon XL kept going into "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" mode. Before my purchase I did try the usual cleaning of the throttle body, etc. but that didn't work. After doing some research and watching a couple of YouTube videos I decided it was time to replace it. Based on my findings everyone did mention that going with OEM (AC Delco) was the better option than an aftermarket part so that what brought me here. Since the install everything is back to normal even during cold weather. Definitely recommend.

Great part
Did exactly what I needed it to do for my car. I’m back on the road!

2003 Tahoe Z71
Was getting P1516 and reduced engine message. I replaced this part, and so far the code seems to be taken care of, as well as it seems that my engine is performing much better. Faster, and shifting gears much more smoothly. Easy to replace, the only difficulty is getting the two hose clamps off for the two coolant lines. Other than that, 3 screws and comes right off. Probably want to order a new gasket if you replace this part as well.

Exact fit replacement part
Replaced the original unit after 280,000 miles on a 2003 suburban. Had been having intermittent “reduced engine power” fault and had replaced many other parts and the problem would come back. It’s been a few months since replacing this part and the fault has not returned. Was an exact fit with original unit. You must also replace the rubber gasket that is not included with the part.

Great part
My 2004 tahoe had the reduced engine power problem that would happen almost every time I drove it. First I bought a dorman one from the parts store and it worked for about 3 months. It then started doing it again so I replaced it with a hitachi one and it worked for about 6 months then it started doing it again. So I bought this genuine oem one and so far it’s great. Also the cheaper ones made the transmission feel and shift weird. This one makes the trans shift like it did when it was new. Don’t waste time buying aftermarket, just buy the oem stuff and only do it once. You’ll lose a small amount of coolant but if you clamp off both little hoses with vice grips it’ll be minimal. Took about an hour to replace

OEM, packed well, and worked perfectly
Worked perfectly. This one was EXACTLY the same as the original one I pulled out of my 2004 Chevy Silverado. It was a different part number then the one stamped on the original but I confirmed with dealer that this is the current model. Arrived packed well and clean, and no codes popped up on the Tech 2 after install. It did wonders for my truck and fixed the problem of it searching RPMs and hesitating. Don’t forget to unhook the negative battery terminal for 10 minutes to “reset” the relearning process in the computer. I unhooked the battery prior to starting the work and by the time I was done I just hooked it back up and was good to go. UPDATE: 2 yrs later, still going strong!
