My dog is a typical non-compliant, fidgeting fur ball when it comes to his nails. I usually take him to the groomer for this service, but it can get inconvenient and pricey, especially when his nails grow back every week. This grinder works well for his nails, but it trims only so consistent and frequent grinding works best. It is not meant to cut down nail that's overgrown for more than 2 weeks. The different settings are useful to adjust to the thickness of your pet's nails and the light on the end also helps with when to stop grinding once I reach his cuticle.

Over all it works pretty good. I used it on my toy aussies nails and it filed them down but didn’t shorten the length. I tried it on my bigger dog and it didn’t work at all. Definitely for smaller dogs

We just got 2 kittens and they are tearing up our house with their sharp nails. I decided to get this nail grinder to help grind down the sharp tips. I tried it on both cats tonight and let's just say it's going to take some getting used to! While it is pretty quiet, they both got scared pretty quickly. Like all cat grooming, I do believe they will be able to get used to it.Why I like it:- Actually quieter than I expected.- Clear instructions on how to insert the batteries properly.- Light to help you see what you are doing- 3 levels of speed so you can refine the amount of grind.This should work great on a dog and I'll probably try it on our dog as well just to give her nails a smoother finish after clipping.

Unfortunately this grinder was too dull to cut my dogs nails. It's cheaply made so I can't recommend it for purchase.

Pros:+ It works (but not flawlessly).Cons:- Batteries not included.- When using the file it seems to lose momentum when you hit the nail with it.- Light flickers when device hits the nail.- Device shuts off mid use. Not sure if I have a defective unit.Overall, I would only recommend this for tiny dogs that have softer nails or puppies because I don’t see this lasting for older dogs with super hard nails.

Not recommended for big dogs lol takes a lot of time to trim one nail!

When I first got it, it seemed okay. I felt it wasn't strong enough, like the little motor was weak. I only used it a few times and now it's completely dead. I have tried really good batteries and still doesn't come on. I think it burned out. Not meant to be on for long periods of time. If you are a dog owner, you know that this takes patience and time, so this product, I would not recommend.
