The product description on Amazon says this tool ratchets. There is no ratchet mechanism on this tool. It is basically pliers with different teeth at different points. A ratchet would be an additional mechanism to multiply your grip strength by compounding multiple grip motions. This is important in a crimping tool, where you lose compression power the further away from the pivot point you grip the object you want to crimp.

I love these things! Very nice grip and size. Great quality, easy to use, and have the wire crimping and stripping ability for exactly what it says and more! Great investment for little money!

Makes it easier to crimp the Twippo wire connectors closed. It takes some practice but they work well.

The jaw on this tool is a little too wide for crimping. Also missing the weather seal crimper part. wish I got the cheapo narrow ones others make
